Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt is feeling the heat as he admitted the scoreline "doesn't look good" when reacting to his side's 4-0 defeat to Wydad Casablanca in a Group C Champions League clash on Sunday.

Slack defending contributed to Chiefs' crashing defeat in Ouagadougou and matters went from bad to worse as they finished with 10 men after captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele was red-carded in stoppage time.

The fixture faced a late venue change to Burkina Faso as the Moroccan embassy forbid entry to South Africans due to coronavirus regulations.

Speaking to the media after the final whistle, Hunt said the score somewhat flattered the hosts who scored two late goals.

"Obviously the scoreline doesn't look well‚ doesn't look good‚ but I thought we had a couple of good opportunities ourselves you know but obviously we got caught on two back-post goals‚ the first two goals‚" Hunt said post-match.

"The third goal as well‚ you know."

Hunt, who will be feeling the heat, added that his side had struggled to come to terms with the difficult conditions in the sweltering 38 degree Celsius heat in Burkina Faso.

"But all in all we had a good couple of opportunities on a difficult pitch and in a difficult situation.

"So we kept going but obviously at the end‚ we conceded two goals right at the end.

"But I thought in the second-half we got stronger‚ we got better and we had opportunities and tried to play‚ but obviously it wasn't to be."

Chiefs have now gone eight matches without a win that stretches back to 19 January with pressure mounting on Hunt, who up until now has never been sacked as a head coach.

The Soweto giants will be aiming to revive their CAF Champions League hopes when they face Petro de Luanda in a Group C clash on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
