Di Maria not feeling anxious

Cape Town - Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria says his team are not at all anxious about their upcoming World Cup campaign, which starts this month.

Argentina, two-time champions at football’s showpiece, have not conquered the world in almost three decades, despite producing a wealth of talent during that period. While the Argentinean football fraternity has consistently had high expectations during recent tournaments, Di Maria feels there will be absolutely no pressure this year.

"Everyone knows it's not easy to win [the World Cup] and that, for many years, Argentina haven't been champions nor reached a final," Di Maria told Fox Sports.

"They are things we have to be relaxed about, knowing we can do it because we have great players, the best in the world at the best clubs in the world," added Di Maria.

The Argentinean star even suggested that, if anything, the pressure ahead of this year’s World Cup would be on hosts Brazil, who have tasted success twice in the past two decades.

"Brazil won the Confederations Cup against Spain, the defending world champions, so they should be confident, but they have more pressure than us," added Di Maria.
