Cape Town - Germany midfielder Christoph Kramer has revealed that he has no recollection of the first half of Sunday's World Cup final.

The 23-year-old was drafted into the starting line-up at the last minute to replace the injured Sami Khedira.

However, his first competitive start for his country lasted only half-an-hour as he was withdrawn several minutes after a collision with Ezequiel Garay's shoulder.

The defensive midfielder attempted to play on after receiving treatment for the head injury on the pitch, but needed to be escorted to the dressing room.

"I can’t really remember much of the game," he told German publication Die Welt after Germany became World Champions thanks to a 1-0 win over Argentina.

"I don’t know anything at all about the first half. I thought later that I left the game immediately after the tackle.

"I have no idea how I got to the changing rooms. I don’t know anything else. In my head, the game starts from the second half."

Meanwhile, Kramer has been linked with a £7m move to Premier League outfit Everton after impressing manager Roberto Martinez.

However, they would need to steal a march on Borussia Monchengladbach, who are thought to be in advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen for the midfielder who was on loan at the club last season.
