Cape Town - South Africa’s Kevin Anderson has slipped from fifth to ninth on the latest ATP rankings.

This follows Anderson’s loss to Austria’s Dominic Thiem in the fourth round of the US Open last week.

Anderson slipped four spots in the rankings because he could not defend the points he gained at the previous year’s US Open, when he reached the final.

Elsewhere, US Open champion Novak Djokovic moved up three spots to No 3, while finalist Juan Martin del Potro moved down a spot to fourth.

South Africa’s Lloyd Harris, who reached the main draw of Grand Slam for the first time at the US Open, moved up 14 spots to a career-high 131.
