World No 1 Novak Djokovic still hasn't made a decision on whether or not he will take part in this year's  US Open despite his name being on the entry list.

The New York event suffered a big blow this week as 19-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal confirmed that he will not defend his title due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

Nadal followed women's world No 1 Ashleigh Barty and men's world No 40 Nick Kyrgios as high-profile withdrawals, while another former champion in Stan Wawrinka was also not on the entry list.

The US Open, scheduled for 31 August - 13 September, will also be without 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer who is still recovering following knee surgery.

Djokovic could still join the list of withdrawals with Serbian journalist Saša Ozmo confirming that he is still to make a decision.

"Novak Djokovic still hasn't made a decision in regard to his participation at the #USOpen. Decision in the next few days," he tweeted.

The 17-time Grand Slam winner, who started the season with an 18-match unbeaten run, could opt to restart his 2020 campaign on the clay in Europe.

The Austrian Open in Kitzbuhel is set for 7 September, followed by the Italian Open in Rome on 21 September, before the red dirt season draws to a conclusion with the rescheduled French Open starting on September 20 at Roland Garros.
