One of the wonderful things about rugby is the speculation that comes before a game when people discuss which side will have the advantage and why. 

The sides then play and, often, a totally different picture emerges. 

If you were British & Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland and you looked at the situation before you got on the plane to South Africa last month, you would have seen a lot of curve balls that the Springboks have had to deal with leading up to the blockbuster series between the sides.
