The Cheetahs' efforts this past week to maximise media coverage of Saturday's Toyota Challenge has been, for want of a better word, endearing.

Tackling an invitational XV that features fringe players from the Rainbow Cup franchises certainly sounds appetising, but Wednesday's confirmation of who'll be considered for that composite team injected a hearty dose of reality.
