As global sport returns to something resembling regular fixtures and scheduling, the frustration for South African rugby lovers continues. 

But there is light at the end of what has been a dark tunnel ever since Super Rugby was suspended towards the end of March. 

The country's franchises are now operating at full tilt on the training ground, effectively continuing their pre-season preparation ahead of a unique Currie Cup that will get underway in early October and include the country's seven top unions.
