Melbourne - Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to bowl in the third one-day international against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

India, who need to win in Melbourne to keep the five-match series alive, made two changes from the side that lost in Brisbane on Friday, handing debuts to all-rounders Gurkeerat Singh and Rishi Dhawan in place of Ravi Ashwin and Manish Pandey.

Australia brought in all-rounder Mitchell Marsh for left-arm paceman Joel Paris.

Australia lead the five-match series 2-0 after wins in Perth and Brisbane.
