Cape Town - Former Proteas all-rounder Rory Kleinveldt will be leaving his English county club Northamptonshire at the end of August and return home.

According to the club's website, Kleinveldt, 35, has called time on his stay after a three-year stint.

Since arriving in 2015, Kleinveldt has been involved in two T20 Blast finals and contributed to the Northamptonshire's 2016 winning title.

He has scored over 1 200 runs and taken 140 wickets in the County Championship with the best figures of 9-65.

The Cape Cobras all-rounder has taken 52 wickets in 47 Twenty20 matches for the English county with best figures of 3-14.

"I can honestly say it's been a great few years for me here. I'm leaving with some amazing memories and wish the lads all the best for the future," Kleinveldt told the county's website.

Northamptonshire's head coach David Ripley paid tribute to Kleinveldt and his contributions to the team over the past three years.

"Rory has been a strong character in the dressing room and has never taken a backward step," said Ripley.

"He's a fine competitor with bat or ball and I've really enjoyed having him around. He's been great for me personally, great for the dressing room and it was great to see him sign off with 450 First Class wickets against Middlesex.

"He's been very good for us and I wish him well."

Klevinveldt has played four Tests, 10 ODIs and 6 T20Is for the Proteas from 2008-2013.
