Sydney - Former Australia fast bowler Ryan Harris feels including Peter Siddle in the side for the first Test against South Africa will give Mitchell Starc the freedom to let rip.

Harris thinks that veteran Siddle will provide stability at the other end, leaving Starc with fewer worries, and the chance to bowl as quickly as he can.

The sides meet in Perth for the first match on 3 November, but Siddle has been out of action for much of the year after various surgeries.
