The Indian Premier League (IPL) returns to India as the Covid-19 pandemic casts a shadow over the T20 tournament.

In 2020, the tournament moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the virus, with the Mumbai Indians claiming their fifth title in November.

This year's season will start on Friday, with all eight teams staying and competing in a strict bio-bubble.
