Bavuma: Personally, I've struggled a little

Cape Town - South Africa batsman Temba Bavuma has admitted that he's not found Australian conditions to his liking thus far, struggling to get going with the bat.

Bavuma seemed to be batting on a different deck to the rest of his team-mates against a South Australia XI this week, scoring at a much slower rate, though he did make 43.

He made 11 in the other warm-up against a Cricket Australia XI, and said moving from ground to ground so quickly was tough to adjust to.

But he was pleased for his high-scoring colleagues, with the likes of Faf du Plessis and Dean Elgar recording tons, and felt the side was happy as a whole.

Bavuma said during the warm-up match: "It’s nice to be out there in a game situation, it beats the nets.

"Personally, I've struggled a little.

"Playing at Adelaide (Oval) and then coming and playing here at a club ground, it’s been contrasting conditions between the two.

"But for the other guys it’s been quite good and I'm sure as the tour goes on things will get better.

"We're not going to take too much out of the scores and the individual performances, it’s more how we want to go about playing our cricket.

"Not too much complacency will set in from our side based on the high scores."

The first Test starts in Perth on 3 November.
