Former Border Cricket president and Cricket South Africa (CSA) board member Tando Ganda said Chris Nenzani should never have been granted an extra year when his two terms expired in 2019.

Nenzani's calamitous bonus year, which flouted CSA's own constitution, came to a crushing end on Monday when he and interim CEO Jacques Faul resigned, deepening the crisis in cricket.

In June, Nenzani said he regretted staying on the extra year, when he oversaw the Thabang Moroe suspension scandal, questionable Proteas coaching appointments as well as sponsors taking flight as a result.
