Based on the utterances at their joint virtual press conference, Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) are headed for a war of attrition over the restricted access to the Fundudzi Forensic Services report and the planned task team intervention.

It was apparent that neither federation was prepared to budge, with acting Sascoc president Aleck Skhosana confirming on Thursday that the task team set to investigate CSA for a period of a month was set to go ahead, despite meetings between the two parties.

The central and major sticking point was the Fundudzi external audit report into cricket, which was seen by the Members' Council last weekend and given to Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa on condition they signed non-disclosure agreements.
