Cape Town - Former SA batsman Daryll Cullinan believes a stint in English county cricket will do Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada the world of good.

A report in the Daily Mail indicates that Rabada is being lined up by Division One side Durham.

Rabada, the report added, was looking to secure a contract for the first six weeks of the English summer and he felt that time on the county circuit would be more beneficial to his growth than a stint in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rabada took the second best match figures by a South African in Test history towards the end of last month - his 13/144 in the fourth Test against England catapulting the Proteas to victory.

At just 20, he is considered one of the brightest young talents in world cricket.

Cullinan, who played 70 Tests for the Proteas, likes the idea of Rabada plying his trade in England.

“Smart thinking. Time in county cricket has made many a fast bowler. Hitting England in May will be a whole new experience for him as a fast bowler,” Cullinan posted on his Facebook page.
