Dean Elgar would be forgiven for spending his post-India series mini-break sipping his favourite pinot noir and luxuriating on the couch of his pyjama lounge, watching playbacks of South Africa's summer triumph.

He skippered the Proteas to one of their most courageous and awe-inspiring victories, coming from behind to beat India 2-1 in the Test series that concluded in Cape Town this month.
