Cape Town - He is a small man, and looks like he doesn't come with a lot of physical strength, but Sri Lankan opener Niroshan Dickwella smashed South Africa to all corners in the third T20I on Wednesday.

He had his moments of fortune - the South African fielding ensured as much - but the 23-year-old's 68 off 51 (10x4, 1x6) fired the visitors to a five-wicket win and a 2-1 series triumph at Newlands.

Dickwella was also named man of the series after he carded scores of 43 and 22 in the first and second T20Is, respectively.

"It was a great feeling to win a series away from home, especially against South Africa. they are a good T20 side and we played on their soil, so it was a great feeling to win against them," he said after the match.

"We could have won the series 3-0, actually. It was in our hands, even the first T20. In the other two matches we were cool and calm, we held our nerve and we played. That was the main reason we were able to win those games."

Dickwella, who is very new to international cricket, hoped that this triumph would give the Sri Lankans some momentum heading into five ODIs against the same opposition.

"It's a great confidence booster, winning against a great team like South Africa. We're hoping to play well in the ODI series as well," he said.
