Cape Town - Jacques Kallis is set to end his exile in one-day internationals when Pakistan tour South Africa later this month.

According to Die Burger's website, the 38-year-old will be available for South Africa's three ODIs against the Pakistanis.

Kallis last played ODI cricket in February 2012 and has focused mainly on Test cricket in the last while.

Proteas coach Russell Domingo earlier indicated that Kallis must play some one-day cricket if he wants to be considered for selection at the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Since the end of the IPL in May, Kallis has only played two Tests - against Pakistan in the UAE late last month - so it will be vital for him to get some game time before the India series in December.

Since he returned to South Africa form the UAE, Kallis has made himself unavailable for the Cape Cobras in the local One-Day Cup. They host the final against the Titans at Newlands on Friday.

Two other Proteas players - Vernon Philander and Robin Peterson - will be available for the Cape side after returning home following South Africa's 4-1 ODI series victory against Pakistan.

Following their two-game T20 series against Pakistan in the UAE, the Proteas will face them in a further two T20s and three ODIs on these shores.
