Cape Town - Proteas speedster Mornel Morkel struck early on the second morning of the first Test against England at Kingsmead in Durban.
Starting the day on 179 for 4, England looked determined to build on their first innings with Nick Compton the anchor and Ben Stokes looking to play his natural, attacking game.
Stokes quickly added to his overnight score with boundaries off Dane Piedt and Proteas spearhead, Dale Steyn.
He played one shot too many however, skying an ill-judged pull off Morkel to be caught by JP Duminy for 21.
A fifty partnership between Compton and England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow followed but Morkel struck again with the second new ball, removing Compton who under-edged an attempted hook shot through to AB de Villiers for a well-played 85.
Morkel then removed Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes in quick succession.
England 264 for 8 after 90 overs
