Proteas surge to No 2 in ODI rankings

Cape Town - Following their 5-0 series win over Australia, the Proteas have moved up to No 2 on the official ODI rankings.

The world champions still top the rankings, but have lost vital points in the ODI team rankings following their whitewash defeat.

The Proteas leapfrogged New Zealand and India to within two points of Australia’s tally of 118 points.

South Africa had started the series tied at 110 points and gained six points, while Australia plunged from 124 to 118 points.
