Cricket is again in the news, with the sport in South Africa having hogged the headlines for the better part of the year. But, in this case, the trouble is out of their control.

It has everything to do with the Omicron Covid-19 variant, which was discovered in South Africa and has shaken up the world.

While the variant has been traced to other parts of the globe, it has sent chills down SA's spines, especially with the money-spinning festive season looming.
