Cape Town - Batsman Henry Davids has been been released from the Proteas' T20 squad ahead of their final clash against Pakistan at Newlands on Friday.

He will feature for the Titans in their opening Sunfoil Series match against the Highveld Lions starting in Centurion on Thursday.

Davids scored three runs in South Africa's four-run win via the Duckworth/Lewis method in the first T20 at the Wanderers on Wednesday night.

AB de Villiers, who was rested for the first game, will likely take Davids's place at Newlands.

After the two-game T20 series, the Proteas also face Pakistan in three one-day internationals.
