Cape Town - Despite losing to the Knights on Wednesday, the Highveld Lions will be eager to host the Cape Cobras in an exciting RAM SLAM T20 Competition match at the Wanderers on Sunday.

The last time the two sides met in Cape Town, the Lions chalked up an impressive seven-wicket victory.  They will believe that they can add another win to the column when they host the Cape side at a ground that Lions captain Thami Tsolekile says has been a happy hunting ground for the side.

"It is always nice to play at home because we always feel like we have got an advantage. The crowd acts as an extra player, and it showed in that game against the Dolphins last weekend where the crowd really got behind us and gave us that belief," Tsolekile said.

A win on Sunday will leave the Lions level with the Cape Cobras on points. With only a handful of games remaining, every point counts as the side focuses on securing a spot in the playoffs.

Although the Lions have a young and relatively inexperienced side in this year’s competition, Tsolekile admitted that the way the side has been performing has taken a lot of the pressure off of his shoulders.

"I must thank the support staff, and especially the players. They have made my job this season a lot easier with the way they have performed," he said.

The Cape side will be missing the services of Kieron Pollard after he was ruled out of the rest of the competition with a knee injury.

The match gets underway at 14:30.
