The Proteas next warm-up match is on Wednesday against Pakistan at 16:00 SA time before their T20 World Cup opener against Australia on Saturday.

The Proteas bowling attack was far too strong for Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi on Monday, securing a comfortable victory in their T20 World Cup warm-up match.

The Proteas have beaten Afghanistan by 41 runs as world No 1 T20 bowler and spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took three for 18 as Afghanistan were restricted to 104/8 in their 20 overs.

South Africa just used five bowlers: Bjorn Fortuin (1/12), Lungi Ngidi (2/27), Dwaine Pretorius (1/30), Keshav Maharaj (1/14) and Tabraiz Shamsi (3/18).

Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Wiaan Mulder did not bowl.

Earlier in the day, Aiden Markram top-scored with 48 off 35 balls, Temba Bavuma scored 31, Rassie van der Dussen made 21 and David Miller smashed an unbeaten 10-ball 20.
