Cape Town - Masters champion Patrick Reed confronted an European Tour camera crew for distracting him during the opening round of the European Open in Hamburg, Germany on Thursday.

Playing his third shot at the 10th hole, Reed was attempting to play a chip shot when his caddie Kessler Karain furiously gestured to something off picture.

In an Instagram video posted by Golf Channel at the Green Eagle Golf Course, Karain pointed to the camera crew and can be heard saying: "You're rattling change in your pocket. That's what I'm pointing at you for."

One of the camera crew members thanks Karain, before Reed chirps in and replies saying, "Well, thank you (and) stop."

Reed, visibly irritated, refused to hit until the two camera crew members were far away from the American.

"You know what, no, I need y'all to go over on that side of the green. Go," said Reed, who is currently second on the European Tour's Race to Dubai standings.

"Camera guy too, sorry. Because he's part of you. He lost privileges by going like that with change.

"Keep going. I'm not hitting until y'all get the heck outta here. Like, completely outta here... Ridiculous," said the world No 13.

Reed, who made a par on the 10th, eventually carded an opening round of two-under 70 - four shots behind leader Bryson DeChambeau.

Warning to all camera crews: Do NOT jingle your change around Patrick Reed!
