Pennsylvania - World rankings leader Tiger Woods confirmed on Friday that he hurt his left elbow during the Players Championship in May, but refused to give details.

Woods, who finished round two of the US Open scoring 3-over 143 on Friday, had been visibly in pain since the beginning of the tournament on Thursday, shaking his left arm after hard swings.

Commentators were quick to speculate about a Woods' injury, but the superstar did not confirm until Friday afternoon that he was hurt.

At a press conference after the second round, Woods said he got hurt a couple weeks ago during "one of the rounds" at the Players, which he won.

"Well, it is what it is," Woods said in response to how he was feeling after the second round.

Earlier on Friday, Woods explained the visible pain saying his "left arm didn't feel very good" on "a few shots."

Woods said the injury would not prevent him from playing in any tournament.
