NO TRY! 0-0: Quite a bit of kicking to start the game and the Brumbies feed a line-out six metres out. The set-piece is secured and after initially going upfront they spread it wide to Tom Wright. He has an open try-line and shifts the ball to one hand but drops it in the process of scoring. Oh dear!
The Brumbies come again and Noah Lolesio is into a gap. He makes good ground before the ball is turned-over. Folau Fakatava kicks deep and we have a line-out near the Brumbies' 22.
Relief for the Brumbies and they have a penalty at the breakdown. They set up the line-out and come away with the ball before Noah Lolesio knocks it on.

TRY, BRUMBIES, BROWN! 0-5: The line-out is secured and they go wide then down the middle. Rob Valetini storms forward before Jahrome Browne SCORES! They deserve that TRY! Great forward play.

The Highlanders make their way towards the Brumbies' 22 and just like earlier they come away conceding a penalty. The Brumbies feed a line-out near halfway.
The Brumbies go wide via Irae Simone and again they spill the ball in the tackle. Scrappy to say the least.
Mitch Hunt clears the ball into touch after Pete Samu is penalised for not releasing him in the tackle. The line-out is secured but then the ball is given away again and now the Brumbies have a penalty. The Brumbies feed a line-out six metres out.
After that line-out the Brumbies have an offside penalty and the referee has a word with James Lentjes.
TRY, BRUMBIES, LONERGAN! 0-12: The Brumbies secure a line-out four metres out and the maul gets going. Good carrying by Lachlan Lonergan and they all work hard to ensure he SCORES!
CONVERSION, BRUMBIES, LOLESIO! 0-14: Noah Lolesio sends it down the middle.
TRY, BRUMBIES, WHITE! 0-19: Just like that! The Brumbies make their way to halfway after the restart. Lolesio kicks it forward before the bounce of the ball favours Nic White, who SCORES!
NO TRY! 0-14: The referee and TMO rules that White spilled the ball just before scoring. Again! Really?
The Highlanders take their time at a scrum and almost buy a penalty before it is cleared. The Brumbies kick forward again and the ball rolls out six metres out.It's a quick throw and Hunt finds touch.
This time the Brumbies take it quickly and make their way towards the 22. It's a scrum near the Highlanders' 22
Folau Fakatava clears the scrum and goes blind-side. He makes good ground before running out of space. The Brumbies secure a penalty for collapsing the maul and find touch inside the Highlanders' half.
Needless to say the line-out is messed up by Lonergan and the Highlanders feed a scrum. Relief for them.
Folau Fakatava goes left to Mosese Dawai but they come back for a scrum penalty and Hunt finds touch.
After some up and down kicking Muirhead sends it too far and Banks can just jot it down for a 22m drop-out.
The mistakes continue and the Highlanders secure a penalty with Hunt finding touch near the Brumbies' 22. They come away with it before securing an offside penalty within range but go for the corner instead.
TRY, HIGHLANDERS, UMAGA-JENSEN! 5-14: Sam Caird clears the line-out and they earn another penalty with Folau Fakatava taking a quick tap. It's too quick and too strong from the Highlanders as Thomas Umaga-Jensen goes OVER!
CONVERSION, HIGHLANDERS, BANKS! 7-14: Banks slots the conversion.
The Brumbies patiently make their way into the Highlanders half before sending it high. Banks takes it neatly.
HALF-TIME: HIGHLANDERS 7-17 BRUMBIES. The Brumbies enjoy a 10 point lead at the break but they should really have been further ahead after failing to score two tries due to knock-ons. The Highlanders are not out of this yet.
PENALTY, BRUMBIES, LOLESIO! 7-17: Scott Sio storms into a gap for the Brumbies after a line-out and the Brumbies secure an offside penalty. Noah Lolesio goes for goal and sends it down the middle.

The first scrum of the half hand the Brumbies a free-kick. They take a quick tap and then have a penalty for a high-tackle.

After a scrappy period of play we are back in the middle of the park for a Brumbies scrum.
Great scrumming by the Highlanders and they secure a penalty against the throw. They set up the attacking line-out but then give away a free-kick at the set-piece.
Illegal clearing at the breakdown by the Brumbies and Banks finds touch for the Highlanders.
TRY, HIGHLANDERS, LENTJES! 12-20: Fakatava sends it wide after the line-out is secured. They string seven phases together before Fakatava is involved again to send James Lentjes OVER!
CONVERSION, HIGHLANDERS, BANKS! 14-20: Marty Banks adds the extras to narrow the gap.
Fakatava's box kick is cleared by the Brumbies and it leads to a penalty at the breakdown. Lolesio fails to find touch for the Brumbies. That has been the story of the day.
The Highlanders string six phases together and suddenly the momentum is with them. The Brumbies however now feed a scrum on halfway.
Lolesio is into a gap before kicking it away but they are brought back for a scrum penalty. This time he finds touch.
Pressure from the Highlanders at the line-out and they come away with it. Great work!
The Highlanders feed the scrum but the Brumbies get the penalty against the throw. Rinse and repeat but this time Lolesio will go for goal.
PENALTY, BRUMBIES, LOLESIO! 14-23: Noah Lolesio is yet to miss this afternoon and stretches the lead.
It's a series of counter-punches and now it's a Highlanders' penalty. They set up and secure the line-out. The maul comes to an end but the Highlanders will feed a scrum.
It's 10 more Highlanders' phases before Banks cannot hold onto the ball on the edge of the 22.
Rob Valetini tries to get into a gap but Lentjes does well to slow him down. Evans gets involved to secure the turn-over penalty for the Highlanders.
Samu clears a Brumbies line-out via Samu and offloads to Valetini, who cannot hold on.
PENALTY, HIGHLANDERS, BANKS! 17-23: It's illegal clearing by the Brumbies right in front and the Highlanders will have a shot at goal. Banks makes no mistake and we have a six point game.
NO TRY! 17-23: A loose ball is pounched on by Umaga-Jensen and he then kicks forward to the corner. Great anticipation by Gilbert who almost touches it down in the corner but the TMO says no try. That could have gone either way.
TRY, BRUMBIES, LOLESIO! 17-28: Hunt is caught in possession and gives away a penalty to the Brumbies at the
breakdown. They get the maul going after the set-piece. Nine phases later Lolesio is OVER IN THE CORNER! Nice work by Lonergan in the build-up.
The conversion is wide.
The Highlanders now string 12 phases together and make their way into the Brumbies half before securing a penalty 16 metres out after a run down the middle by Christian Lio Willie'.
The Highlanders secure the subsequent line-out. Umaga-Jensen sends it wide and 12 more phases later they secure an offside penalty. Time is running out so they take a quick tap and have another penalty. The Brumbies are warned.
The Highlanders clear another line-out but the Brumbies have done enough, as the Highlanders run out of real estate. The Brumbies feed what may be the final line-out.
