The teams are out on the field at an almost empty Old Trafford. It's nearly time for the action to get underway. Both of these teams have had defensive woes of late, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Martin Atkinson, the 49-year-old from Drighlington, will referee this evening's fixture.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea, the two most successful teams in the Premier League era, at Old Trafford.
Martin Atkinson blows his whistle. The players take the knee and then Chelsea kick the game off.
Chelsea enjoy plenty of the early possession, knocking the ball about patiently before going for the long ball. With that, they concede possession to United.
Pulisic looks to dance through the United defence, but Wan-Bissaka puts a stop to his run with a perfectly-timed tackle.
The two teams exchange possession repeatedly in a short space of time in midfield. It's been a scrappy start to the game.
United go for the long ball from the back towards James, but the flag goes up against him for offside.
Jorginho looks to pick out Werner with a long pass, but Maguire cuts it out.
Another fine interception from Maguire as he stops Kante's ball aimed at playing Havertz in behind.
It's been a cagey first quarter of an hour with little for either Edouard Mendy or David de Gea to do.
Werner has been drawn out wide on several occasions, perhaps frustrated with his service upfront.
These two teams have been entertaining -- sometimes frustratingly so for their fans -- in the opening few games. However, in this fixture, they have been quite restrained.
Chilwell finds Havertz with a long ball and he looks to slip Werner in behind, but overhits his pass to his compatriot, who might have been offside anyway.
From a free-kick on Chelsea's left, James looks to catch de Gea out, but the goalkeeper is equal to the shot and catches it.
At the other end, Pulisic blocks McTominay's effort.
Fernandes has another go from just outside the box, but fires straight down Mendy's throat this time.
Fernandes tries a long-range shot, but smacks it into a sea of bodies.
Pulisic cuts inside from the left and shoots, but hits right at de Gea, who holds on.
Pulisic wins possession off Fred in midfield and goes on a rampaging run. He has bodies in support, but fizzes a shot across goal and wide.
Rashford has a go at goal at the other end, but Mendy makes the save.
Boyhood Chelsea fan Luke Shaw picks up a yellow card and gives away a free-kick.
Maguire heads away from Chilwell's free-kick. Azpilicueta claims Maguire fouled him in the penalty area in the process. There was some pulling, but Atkinson is unmoved.
Shaw gives the ball to Rashford, who tees up Mata for a shot on the edge of the area. Mendy makes the save.
There's a VAR check for a possible United penalty for Kante's challenge on Rashford. None given. It's only a United corner, which is turned into the path of Kante to clear.
HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 CHELSEA. We head into the break with the scores still level. Perhaps the two teams showed each other too much respect. Let's see if there's more of the same in the second half.
Kai Havertz goes into the book, picking up a yellow card for a foul.
Only one minute of stoppage time has been added on at the end of a largely uneventful first half.
The second half is underway at Old Trafford.
Fred picks up a yellow card for a professional foul on Kai Havertz.
The game continues to burn slowly in the second half. Who will win this game of chess?
Solskjaer is deep in conversation with Pogba and Cavani, seemingly about to bring his two star substitutes on.
Here come Cavani and Pogba on in place of Mata and James.
Cavani's first touch is so nearly a goal! He meets a corner at the near post, but puts it wide.
CHANCE! James' cross finds the head of Havertz, who just can't steer it on target. Pulisic just misses on the slide.
Timo Werner is marshalled out wide by the United defence in a promising position.
After a couple of good chances in quick succession, this game has slowed down again.
Rashford is played in behind on United's left and he cuts inside, but Azpilicueta makes the block as he pulls the trigger.
Havertz has recently been replaced by Mount and Werner by Abraham. Pulisic goes down, claiming to have been fouled by McTominay. Martin Atkinson is unmoved.
Rashford is blown up for a foul on Mount. He picks up a yellow card for that.
Pogba has a go at goal, but his effort is blocked. Ziyech comes on to replace Pulisic for Chelsea.
Greenwood comes on for Manchester United in place of McTominay.
Jorginho tries a shot from long range, but misses the target by some distance.
Cavani has a go at goal, but Thiago Silva gets stuck in to make the block against his old team-mate.
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 CHELSEA. The spoils are shared in a cagey Old Trafford clash of the Premier League old guard. Neither team will be quite satisfied, but Frank Lampard perhaps slightly the happier of the two head coaches.
We are into four minutes of stoppage time at the end of the match.
Rashford tries a long-range curler from the edge of the box, but Mendy makes an absolutely superb save to deny him!
