The team news will be out shortly!
Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of this EFL Cup clash between Brighton and Manchester United, live from the Amex Stadium!
KICK OFF: We're underway at the Amex.
United started slowly in this game on Saturday, but have begun a little brighter this evening. They have taken charge of the ball in the early stages.
Better from Brighton as they ease their way into this one. Dunk looks up and tries to play one over the top of the United defence, but launches it right out for a goal kick.
United trying to use Ighalo as a target man at the minute. Mata curls one into him and the striker tries to nod it down for Van de Beek, but he can't quite find his team-mate and Brighton clear.
United win another corner but it comes to nothing. The visitors have dominated the opening 10 minute in terms of possession.
Williams getting plenty of space when he gets forward from left-back for United, but it seems to slow them down a little as he always wants to cut onto his right foot and come inside. Lacking a bit of direction down that flank at the minute.
Chance! In the blink of an eye United are in! Mata comes in from the right and plays it to Williams, who then finds his team-mate again in the box. Mata then squares for Ighalo, who gets around Steele but just runs out of space and fires into the side netting from a few yards.
Fred fires the ball into Van de Beek who touches it to Ighalo on the edge of the box. The striker tries to return the favour and feed the Dutchman, but his pass doesn't quite come off.
Brighton win a corner and have the chance to swing a ball into the box with Dunk, Burn and White up. Instead they take it short and make a bit of a hash of it, and the chance goes.
Save! First time Henderson is called into action this evening. Bernardo finds Mac Allister and his lovely touched pass finds Jahanbakhsh in space on the edge of the box. He tries to curl one first time into the bottom corner, but the United goalkeeper is down low to keep it out.
Chance! Fred gets the ball in space 35 yards out. He looks up, thinks about it, then decides to have a pop. It's well-struck, but right at Steele.
All of a sudden it opens up for Brighton and Bernardo is galloping towards their box. Bailly gets back and deals with it really well, getting in front of the ball and forcing Bernardo into a foul.
Over! Mac Allister causing problems again. Bernardo wins the ball back deep in United territory and finds his team-mate. Mac Allister gets to the edge of the box and shoots, but his effort bends just over the bar.
Another effort from Brighton as they break quickly. Jahanbakhsh twists away from Williams and has a shot, but it's always rising over the bar from a tough angle.
Booking: Dan Burn is booked for a foul on Mata.
GOAL! United take the lead! It comes from the resulting free-kick as Mata swings one in with his left foot, and McTominay is there unmarked in the middle back across goal and into the net.
There will be one minute of added time.
SECOND HALF: We're back underway for the second 45.
HALF TIME: McTominay's late header separates the sides after what was a fairly even first half.
Great touch from Bernardo as he rounds Dalot and bursts into the box. But Bailly is across with a brilliant sliding challenge on the cover.
Injury concern for Brighton as Jahanbakhsh hits the turf holding his leg. Will this force Brighton into a change? Neal Maupay is warming up.
Substitution: And that's the change for Brighton. Maupay is on for Jahanbakhsh.
Chance! United win a free-kick 25 yards from goal relatively central. Fred fancies his chances and he has a pop, but it's saved low by Steele, who spills it just in front of him before gathering at the second attempt.
Good spell this for Brighton. They are working the ball in nice patterns in the United final third, but the away side aren't allowing them to get through their rear-guard.
Substitution: Trossard is on for Brighton. Gyokeres makes way.
Couple of changes on the way for United, too. Solskjaer is in deep conversation with Pogba and Rashford on the sidelines.
Save! Brighton finally do carve their way through. Molumby does great to get to the edge of the box then play it right for Gross. He then crosses low for Trossard who hits it first time, but Henderson gets a strong left hand to tip it wide.
Substitution: Pogba and Rashford are on. James and Ighalo off.
Pogba has come right on in an attacking midfield role, with Van de Beek moving out to the left. Let's see if that improves United's cohesion in the closing stages.
GOAL! He's made the first and scored the second! Juan Mata starts the move as he cuts inside and works it wide to Williams. He finds Fred who then plays it into Van de Beek, whose brilliant flicked touch finds Mata - who had continued his run into the box - and he takes a touch before picking out the bottom corner.
Chance! Nearly a third for United as Mata finds Dalot and he crosses for Pogba, who arrives 12 yards out but heads it just wide.
Booking: Veltman goes into the book as he takes out Rashford. Free-kick to United in a good area.
GOAL! That should be that! Pogba's free-kick takes a heavy touch off the wall and curls right into the top corner of the near post. Steele could do absolutely nothing!
Changes from both sides after that goal. Fred if off for Man Utd with Lingard coming on. Molumby comes off for the hosts with Sanders replacing him.
Chance! Nearly 4. Van de Beek nudges a pass through the Brighton defence for Dalot but Steele is out quickly to smother the shot. Classy stuff from the Dutchman.
Booking: Lindelof picks up a late booking.
Chance! Man Utd having some fun now, with Lingard racing down the right flank, chopping inside and then firing wide of the far post.
There will be two minutes of added time.
FULL TIME: United are into the last 8 of the EFL Cup following a convincing 3-0 win at the Amex, their second win here in just a matter of days. Thanks for joining us!
