Cape Town City won the MTN 8 in 2018 and will want to take the title again this season. It all points towards a cracking contest in temperatures that hopefully favour free-flowing football.
Pirates have not progressed past the MTN 8 quarter-final in the last six years so they'll be keen to rectify that this evening.
Recent history suggests we should expect plenty goals in this encounter.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the MTN 8 quarter-final between Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City at the Orlando Stadium.
KICK OFF! 0-0. Cape Town City gets the match underway at Orlando Stadium.
Pirates start on the front foot and win a set piece. Chance to put the ball in the box and the Buccaneers win a corner.
The conditions are perfect for football. Field in good condition and with it being a late kick off, so glaring sun to worry about.
Let's hope the conditions leads to some entertaining football.
City press high and win the ball but Pirates recover in time to stop any shot on goal.
Pirates had a bright opening few minutes but City have started dominating possession.
Update: It remains 0-0 here at Orlando Stadium as we approach the 20 minute mark. No clear-cut chances yet but and intriguing game nevertheless.
GOAL! PIRATES! DZVUKAMANJA! 1-0. Superb header on debut gets Dzvukamanja a goal.
Pule is almost in but Leeuwenburgh comes out of his box and fortunately gets there first to clear.
City were on top before the goal, and have been since the goal but just can't seem to create much going forward.
RED CARD! Lakay has been sent for an early shower after a horrible tackle on Jooste. He went right over the ball. City players protest but it is a clear red card.
City have to do a bit more with the possession they have. They've bossed the ball in this first half but haven't created anything of value.
Pirates simply waiting for City and then catching them on the counter. City have been toothless in the final third.
Players are quite clearly a bit rusty with this being the first match of the new season. However, Pirates are looking great on the counter.
HALF TIME! 1-0. Pirates lead at the break thanks to a debut goal from Dzvukamanja. City are down to 10 men after Lackay's terrible challenge on Jooste.
KICK OFF! 1-0. The second half is underway. Pirates lead and City are down to 10 men so can they somehow get back into it?
Pirates are pushing for a second to finish the game off. They win successive corners and score from the second, but it is ruled out for a foul.
Cape Town City will have to find a way to get back into this with 10 men. Perhaps play on the counter as their possession game has hardly threatened Pirates tonight.
City are certainly starting to put some pressure on Pirates. This game is far from over, all they need is one opportunity.
Pirates winning plenty of corners in the second half but have yet to make one count. Here goes another...
Despite City being down to 10 men, Pirates haven't created much themselves. Relying on a 1 goal cushion is a dangerous game to play.
CLOSE! Nodada is inches away from leveling matters here at the Orlando stadium. He curls one just over the crossbar.
Sub for Pirates: Dlamini on for Dzvukamanja.
City win a corner. They are starting to find some space down the Pirates right. You wouldn't say they are the team with 10 men at the moment.
Pirates think they have a breakaway on but the offside flag is raised. That was very close.
City are running out of time as we near the final 10 minutes. It remains 1-0 in favour of Pirates.
Pirates are happy to soak up the pressure as we near the end. It could bite them but in all fairness, City have hardly created anything resembling a good chance.
CHANCE! Lepasa should put the game to bed. He turns brilliantly on the halfway line and has a clear run at goal but Leeuwenburgh makes the save one-on-one.
The hosts are happy to just hold onto the ball now as City chase shadows. They have done well with only 10 men but the failure to create chances will be a concern.
FULL TIME! 1-0. Pirates get the win but neither team will be happy with the performance. City had 10 men for more than 60 minutes while Pirates wasted numerous opportunities. Pirates advance in the MTN 8 for the first time since 2014.
+3 Great chance for City to take it into extra time but Morris completely misses the header. It wasn't difficult, he just didn't make contact.
There are four minutes of added on time.
Pirates should score but Leeuwenburgh saves again. That is followed by a tackle which should surely have been a penalty. Tackler never got anywhere near the ball.
We are into the final minute of normal time. Can City work some magic?
