We are underway as Cape Town City kick us off.
Cape Town City have started on the front foot but it's been stop-start so far with a couple of fouls and offsides in the game.
Chiefs have set up with Daniel Cardoso in a defensive midfield role once again for this match.
GOAL! NGCOBO! Mashiane gets forward well and when a cross is cleared to him, he delivers into the box for Zuma, who finds Ngcobo to finish via a deflection off Potouridis. Cape Town City 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs.
Zulu makes a poor headed clearance for Chiefs but Mkhize can't find a teammate in the box for Cape Town City.
City work the ball well through midfield but Ralani's flick through for runners is too heavy and no teammates read the inventive pass anyway.
Save! A cross comes into the Chiefs box by Makola, Ngezana clears poorly and Nodada strikes a powerful left footed shot for City but it's straight at Akpeyi.
Chiefs break at speed and Zulu looks early for Nurkovic with a cross but Potouridis does well to head clear for City.
Chiefs mount some pressure as Zulu delivers a long throw and then two crosses and Agay has two shots blocked. City do well to defend the sustained period of direct football by Chiefs.
GOAL! MASHIANE! Chiefs double their lead. Amakhosi break at speed, Baccus releases Nurkovic and the striker finds Mashiane to round the goalkeeper and fire into an open net. Cape Town City 0-2 Kaizer Chiefs.
City are trying to play out from the back but are really struggling with Chiefs aggressive pressing in midfield.
Cardoso plays a long ball over the top for the run of Nurkovic for Chiefs but the offside flag goes up immediately.
Lakay is released on the right of the box for City and he hits a shot but Mphahlele does well to block for Amakhosi.
City get a double of dangerous crosses into the Chiefs box but Agay defends strongly and Akpeyi dives to smother a loose ball.
City take a short corner but when Mokeke delivers, Chiefs again defend well. City don't have much height or aerial presence to threaten the tall Amakosi backline.
City are camped in the Chiefs half now but are struggling to find any invention or clever ideas to break down an organised defence. Mashego delivers a cross from the left but it's defended comfortably.
Chiefs have committed eight fouls already as they look to break up City's rhythm and short passing. It has worked very well.
Makola does well to win a freekick right on the edge of the box after a rash challenge by Chiefs captain Mphahlele.
City surprise Chiefs by delivering a cross instead of a shot from the freekick and Makola's ball is headed just wide by Mkhize, who arrived late onto the ball.
Ngezana shows tenacity to force an error on City's left and then finds Zuma with a throw-in, who wins a corner for Chiefs.
Ngcobo delivers a corner for Chiefs and Leeuwenburgh punches into his own teammate. Once the ball is cleared, Zulu has a shot from range which goes high and wide of goal.
Leeuwenburgh goes long from the back for City, Lakay takes the ball down well on the left wing and finds Nodada at the back post for City but his touch is heavy and Mphahlele can shield the ball out of play.
HALF TIME. Kaizer Chiefs lead 2-0 at the break after Ngcobo scores after seven minutes and Mashiane after 19. A well deserved lead with City looking somewhat toothless.
SAVE! Lakay gets the ball on the right and finds Ralani with a low cross and the wingers draws an excellent save out of Akpeyi who plunges to his left to claw it out.
The fourth official indicates two minutes of additional time to be played.
SAVE! City start fast and Martin finds Mdantsane to have a shot saved before Lakay thinks he has scored but Akpeyi pulls off a brilliant save! Brilliant stuff from the Nigerian 'keeper.
The second half is underway as Chiefs kick us off.
Cape Town City make a half rime change as Craig Martin comes on for Thami Mkhize due to injury.
Penalty shout! Nodada goes down as Baccus challenges him but the referee waves away the appeals and has a word with City midfielder.
Nurkovic is the first man into the book for fouling Cupido. The Chiefs striker will now need to be careful.
Mphahlele fouls Mdantsane and becomes the second Chiefs man into the book.
Baccus gets forward well for Chiefs, running onto Zuma's pass and drawing a save from Leeuwenburgh from a narrow angle.
Manyama's first involvement is to take a corner from the left and it goes straight out for a goalkick.
Chiefs make a double change as Blom replaces Ngcobo and Manyama comes on for Mashiane.
City are dominating the ball and almost the entire game is in the Chiefs defensive third but City are not really threatening and Chiefs are defending crosses well, especially Agay at centre back.
Lakay has a shot for City but it rolls harmlessly wide. That sums up City's day.
Sitter! Cape Town City now work a good attack from a short corner with Mdantsane but Lakay hits the woodwork from point blank range.
Chiefs make a double change as Baccus is replaced by Matsheke and Parker replaces Zuma.
Now Cape Town City make a change as they withdraw centre back Cupido for winger Charles Zulu. That's an attacking change by Riekerink.
Matsheke does well for Chiefs to shield the ball on the right touchline and win a throw-in near the corner flag. Chiefs are now winding down the clock and looking to secure the win.
City remain camped in the Chiefs half and now largely in their box. Nodada twice fires low, hard crosses into the area but Chiefs defend excellently.
GOAL! LAKAY! City play some lovely stuff with two backheels, first from Mdantsane and then from Zulu before Lakay curls home a finish. Game on! Cape Town City 1-2 Kaizer Chiefs.
Chiefs make their final change as Leonardo Castro replaces Samir Nurkovic.
Chiefs launch a quick counter attack as Manyama carries the ball after receiving from Parker but he fires just wide with his left foot against his former club.
Nodada runs up the left and curls a shot from a wide angle which goes wide of the post. He has played well today but that is a wasteful decision by Nodada.
FULL TIME. Cape Town City 1-2 Kaizer Chiefs. Amakhosi were 2-0 up through Ngcobo and Mashiane after 19 minutes and held firm until Lakay pulled one back after 83 minutes. A late onslaught from the hosts could not bring an equaliser. Thanks for joining us.
Post! Makola finds Martin on the right and he volleys a shot which shaves the left upright and goes wide! That was so nearly an equaliser for the home side.
The fourth official indicates four minutes of additional time to be played.
Akpeyi is down for Chiefs with a hamstring injury but it is quite clearly time wasting to take the string out of City's late comeback.
