Hello and welcome to our blow-by-blow coverage of this Premier League clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City at the Amex Stadium.
Off we go with Brighton & Hove Albion hosting the defending champions. The match is underway.
Manchester City have started this game on the front foot, as one would expect even at the Amex Stadium.
Cancelo, who has been in such fine form for City, drives a low shot at goal. Sanchez gets down well to tip it behind for a corner. Rodri's flicked header looks dangerous, but Sanchez gathers the ball there and Brighton can breathe momentarily.
OFF THE LINE! Gundogan slips Jesus in behind and he goes for goal. It looks certain to go in, but Dunk makes an absolutely astounding clearance off the line!
GOAL, CITY, GUNDOGAN! 0-1: Jesus and Sanchez contest the high ball after Foden's deflected shot. City come away with possession and Bernardo Silva flicks on for Gundogan to tap in. VAR checks for a foul from Jesus on Sanchez, but the goal stands!
Trossard tries to shoot on the turn, but it's a difficult shot from the edge of the box and he misses the target.
Brighton weather a Manchester City storm as Foden is smothered by Sanchez and the Seagulls regroup to clear the ball as it comes back into the danger area.
Walker makes a clumsy challenge on Cucurella in midfield and picks up a yellow card. He appears somewhat bemused as he speaks to Kevin Friend, which he really shouldn't be.
GOAL, CITY, FODEN! 0-2: Grealish is away on the counter-attack and squares for Foden, who does brilliantly to get the shot away despite the despairing dive of a Brighton defender to try put him off. It finds the back of the net!
GOAL, CITY, JESUS! 0-3: Dunk throws possession away and City break in a flash. Jesus tees Grealish up. His shot is saved by Sanchez, but Jesus is there on the follow-up to score! Foden might have got a touch there. This one will either be granted to Jesus or Foden. For now, it's Jesus!
Manchester City have left Brighton with a mountain to climb. Cucurella plays a cross in from deep on the Seagulls' left. It's a decent delivery, but Ederson gets there first and holds on.
UPDATE: Manchester City's third goal has been credited to Phil Foden. Jesus' shot was deflected in off the England international.
Rodri gives possession away on the edge of his own box. Brighton can't get a shot away immediately, but March has a try from long range. It's a good strike, but Ederson blocks and gathers on the second attempt.
HALF-TIME: BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION 0-3 MANCHESTER CITY. Earlier today, we saw Chelsea sweep Norwich City aside 7-0. Manchester City look determined to prove that anything the European champions can do, the champions of England can do just as well. Foden has two goals and Gundogan one.
Grealish has a go at goal from the edge of the box, but his curling effort is caught by Sanchez.
Gundogan tees Foden up on the edge of the box, but his shot is saved by Sanchez. We head into two minutes of stoppage time.
Off we go for the start of the second half.
Foden shoots on the turn, but drags his low shot wide of goal.
Foden puts a ball into the area, looking for Jesus at the far post, but Burns does well to head behind.
Gundogan's corner leads to a comfortable Sanchez save. It looked like Ruben Dias who got a touch on that delivery in the area.

Lamptey is on for Brighton in place of Burn, while Maupay makes way for Mwepu.
Trossard has a go at goal from outside the box, but his shot is straight down the throat of Ederson, who holds on.
Cancelo clatters into Lamptey, who has struggled with injury of late, mind you. The result is a yellow card, but thankfully not another injury.
Trossard has a go at goal, which Ederson pushes away at the near post! Fair play to Brighton for not throwing in the towel.
Moder commits a foul on Rodri and picks up a yellow card.
Mwepu looks to slip Trossard in, but Dias is able to come across and clear into touch. Brighton work the ball to Moder, who wins a corner off Walker.
Brighton are really taking the game to City in the second half. Where was this intensity when it was needed? In fairness, City were breathtaking in the first 45 minutes.
Walker wins a foul off Trossard just outside his own area, much to the chagrin of Trossard. Walker appears to be a little winded. Either that or City are running the clock down.
Lallana picks up a yellow card. Brighton's intensity is positive, but they must be careful not to overdo it.
Gross makes way for Brighton with Mac Allister coming on in hid place.
Moder clips a ball over the top for Mwepu, who doesn't catch it cleanly on the volley.
Gundogan goes off after a true captain's performance. He gives the armband to Fernandinho, who takes his place.
Grealish gets on the end of a ball over the top, but his touch is a little heavy and Veltman recovers to dispossess him.
De Bruyne comes on in place of Grealish for Manchester City.
PENALTY! Lovely work from Brighton. Trossard looks to slip Mwepu in; he is caught by Ederson and Kevin Friend points to the spot.

Foden is going all out for the third goal. He gets inside the box, but his shot is blocked by Veltman.
GOAL, CITY, MAHREZ! 1-4: Foden wrestles away possession for Manchester City. Fernandinho gives the ball back to him and he tees up Mahrez to put the cherry on top of the cake!
FULL-TIME: BRIGHTON 1-4 MANCHESTER CITY. Two goals from Foden and one apiece from Gundogan and Mahrez have given City all three points against a Seagulls side that never gave up, but never truly looked in the game.
