For a pre-season encounter, this game provided plenty of entertainment and excitement, but ultimately it was Chiefs and their Champion Coach that came out on top. Final score 0-0 (4-3 penalties).

Chiefs start the game well, knocking the ball around confidently and Samir Nurkovic gets a half chance on the edge of the area, but his cross is blocked.
Cardoso who missed in open play, goes for the same side, the bottom right corner and leaves Ofori standing. 1-1.
Kabelo Dlamini goes for a stop-start kick and his shot is saved, but there will be a retake as the keeper moved too early. This time Dlamini SCORES into the bottom-right corner. 2-1.
Chiefs have the first corner of the game, from the left-hand side, swung in by Billiat but cleared by Nyauza to set Pirates forward.
Parker drills his shot into the left of the goal as Ofori dives to the right. 2-2.
Ntsikelelo Nyauza sees his shot saved by Petersen and the post as the ball and the keeper touches the ball onto the upright. 2-2.
Billiat swings in another corner, this time from the opposite side, that is headed clear by Jooste.
Radebe skies his penalty over the crossbar. 2.2

Chiefs continue to dominate the ball, while Khune gets his first touch on the ball as Makaringe swings a ball in just too close to the keeper.
Phathutshedzo Nange buries his kick into the left of the goal. 3-2.
Ofori steps up and smashes his kick into the bottom left corner of the net. 3-3.
Sekgota is the hero for his new club as he finds the top left corner of the net to win the penalty shootout 4-3 and the 2021 edition of the Carling Black Label Cup.
Half-chance for Pirates as Hotto is played through on goal from a central area, but the ball is just overhit as both he and Khune end up in a pile on the ground.
Pirates have begun to see more of the ball, but only in their own half, with Chiefs quick to press when ever their opponents venture too far forward.
Billiat swings in the ball, but his delivery is not effective as it fails to beat the first man.
Pirates completely slowing the game down now to maintain hold of the ball, trying to stretch their opponents...
In the end a long ball over the top for Hotto is too long and Khune takes hold before releasing Nurkovic with a pinpoint delivery to get Chiefs back on the ball...
After some super controlled passing, it is a lapse in concentration from Mashiane that see Bucs win back the ball.
Jooste does well to beat his man and get a cross in from the right that Khune saves comfortably, before finding Biliat, who in turn feeds Nurkovic, but he can't keep his shot on target.
Mphahlele brings down Mhango for a free-kick on the edge of the Chiefs box...
Lorch strikes the ball but Nurkovic gets his head in the way for a corner. The delivery is sent in from the right-hand side but easily collected by Khune once again.
Baccus picks up the first caution of the game for pulling down Mhango.
Hotto floats a good ball into the box from the left that is headed just wide of the right-hand post by Hlatshwayo.
Much better from Bucs as Makaringe hits the side netting after racing into the box and picking up a pass from Nyauza.
Good head-to-head between Mphahlele and Mhango, with both players demanding a free-kick from the other, as Mathoho cuts out a potential through ball with Hotto lurking...
Bucs are now the team on top, for the moment, with Chiefs unable to hold the ball. With just over 10 minutes of the first half to go, they will want to make this possession count.
Pirates get a rare set-piece, with Hotto swinging in a very deep corner that Hlatshwayo can't control, leading to a Chiefs break-away...
Cardoso swings a deep ball into Radebe, but despite his trickery, cannot control the pass, and loses out on a corner as well.
Chiefs take a quick short-corner on the left, with Mashiane, Blom and Nurkovic looking to work some space, only to be crowded out.
Motshwari brings down Radebe, leaving Billiat a great chance to hit the target from 25 yards out.
Pirates go up the other end and so nearly force a goal, with Khune making a good strong save to deny Lorch, after he had cut in from the left-hand side.
Mashiane takes the kick, but while it is on target, the shot fails to beat Ofori.
Chiefs are so quick to move from defence to attack, with Nurkovic picking up a long, switched ball, but without any reward as his control lets him down.
The whistle is blown for half-time...
Pirates get the second half of this game underway...
The two sets of players head down the tunnel at the end of an enthralling first half with the score still tied at 0-0.
All smiles at the start of the second half as Radebe brings down Jooste. Bucs are on the ball but not taking any chances as yet...Lorch then did expertly well to get a ball into Mhango in the box, but Chiefs can clear...
Blom breaks forward well and is able to feed Mashiane, but Motshwari sticks well to his man and can clear the danger. Mashiane then tries his luck from range, but his shot is easily blocked.
The fans have spoken: Kgaogelo Sekgota is on for Chiefs, for Lebohang Lesako. For Pirates, Siphesihle Ndlovu is on for Thabang Monare.
Nurkovic goes down in a dangerous position but the referee waves play on...only to stop play for the first substitution of this match...
Maela is bundled over by Nurkovic, as the striker shows his frustration at a lack of chances in front of goal.
Sekgota smashes his shot into the near post and so nearly catches out Ofori, who does expertly to keep the ball out.

Jooste does some great work to bring the ball down on his chest and cut in from the right to smash a shot goalward. He wins a corner via a slight deflection.
Hotto whips in a corner from the right for Bucs, but Mphahlele is under the ball to head clear.
Billiat is forced off the pitch with an injury.
Radebe can't find a teammate with a corner from the right-hand side.
What a crucial block from Nyauza as Alexander picked up a knock-down from Bliiat (who had made his way back on to the pitch) and smashed the ball on target.
Khune makes an important reflex save to keep the score at 0-0. Mhango did well to find Hotto on the left, who in turn fed to Lorch, but he was unable to beat the Chiefs stopper.
Great chance for Chiefs as Billiat and Radebe combine, but the latter can't keep his shot on target as the ball falls kindly for him.
Hotto's delivery is dangerous and played into the near post, but Khune scrambles the ball clear. Hotto wins a free-kick on the left of the big box.

The changes have certainly helped Chiefs, so can Pirates' substitutions have a similar impact with this game winding down, or will the match head to penalties, which is looking increasingly more likely...
Blom floats a good ball into the Bucs box, but Jooste clears, as Billiat is adjudged to have fouled Motshwari.
Corner number eight for Chiefs, and Radebe's delivery is good, but Motoho can't make a strong enough connection and heads just wide.
