Sundowns beat Royal AM 3-2 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium earlier in the season. Royal AM were 3-0 down heading into the last 10 minutes before a brace from Victor Letsoalo (including a penalty in the 90th minute) gave the hosts a late scare.
Sundowns have won 21 of the meetings between the two sides. Royal AM have claimed five wins while nine encounters ended with the scores even.
Royal AM have drawn three and won one of their last five matches, while Sundowns have won two and drawn two of their last five matches.
Sundowns are on top of the log with 62 points and have secured the Premier Soccer League title for 2021/22. Their nearest challengers are Cape Town City on 49 points.
Royal AM are in 3rd place on the log with 46 points, just three points behind 2nd-placed Cape Town City and equal on points with Kaizer Chiefs. Matlaba with a good pass down the right for Royal AM to threaten the Sundowns box but they are pushed back to the halfway line.
Royal AM with another good drive down the left but the ball runs out for a Sundowns goal-kick, which they take short and look to slowly move it upfield.
Mogaila with an excellent tackle wins possession for Royal AM who push forward before Dlamini's attempt at a deep cross flies into the crowd way right of the posts.
Mogailo gets the ball in a beautiful position to shoot in the Sundowns box but he slips as he hits the ball and it slides tamely out for a goal-kick. Excellent attack at pace by Royal AM.

GOAL, SUNDOWNS, SIRINO! 0-1; Sirino darts into the box and strokes a first-time volley inside the right upright, spectacular goal. The cross in was from a few metres inside the Royal AM half so Sirino's control and accuracy was world-class.
Another quick move by Royal AM allows them to attack the Sundowns box, but the cross in is tame and Mweene pouches it without concern.
There's a clash of players now on the edge of the Royal AM box and both sides have a man down on the canvas. Not clear which way the referee might point after blowing his whistle, but both players look to have recovered.

Mogaila delivers it beautifully on the six-yard line where Letsoalo gets his head to it but it balloons gently for Mweene to claim the ball above head-height, and with that the ref brings the half to a close.
