These teams have never faced each other in any European competition before.
A serious concern for Zagreb is that they will again miss their goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic due to injury. We expect to see Danijel Zagorac between the poles this evening.
West Ham will once again be without Arthur Masuaku as he continues his rehabilitation following a knee injury.
This is a welcome return to Europe for West Ham United after an absence of 15 years. They have not competed in any top-flight European competition since the 2006-2007 UEFA Cup.
G'Day and welcome to Maksimir for our live coverage of this UEFA Europa League Group H clash between Dinamo Zagreb and West Ham United.
Kick-Off! We are underway here in Croatia.
West Ham secure an early corner. Cresswell sends it in towards the far post and Zagreb clear.
It is a very tricky surface out there and two players have already slipped. West Ham secure a second corner in as many minutes.
It has been a confident start by West Ham but it will not be easy.
It's a third corner for the visitors after a block by Lauritsen.
Cresswell delivers the corner and sends it in with his left foot. It is cleared behind for another corner by Soucek off a defender.
Declan Rice finds Cresswell but the final attempt is well and truly BLOCKED!
It has been a good start by the London team. Can they keep this up?
Antonio out-muscles Ivanusec and wants a free-kick after he goes down. The referee is not interested.
Zagreb have been playing out from the back but they have failed to get out of their half that often. They are struggling to hold onto possession in their half at this stage.
West Ham have done well in keeping the intensity at a high level. Zagreb are still trying to get use to that. Rice concedes a free-kick after a foul on Petkovic. The set-piece is wasted and flies OVER!
GOAL, WEST HAM UNITED, ANTONIO! 0-1: An absolute GIFT! A perfect start by West Ham after a poor back-pass from Théophile-Catherine. Antonio was awake and went around the keeper to slide it into an open net.
West Ham have another corner after a Fredericks shot is deflected behind by Livakovic. That was a brilliant SAVE!
Fredericks gets the better of his Zagreb marker and he secures another corner.
The Zagreb supporters continue to make a noise despite the fact that their team look a bit shell-shocked at this stage.
YELLOW! Lanzini gets in a silly tackle on Petkovic after losing the ball. He is booked for his troubles. Replays suggest that Lanzini is unlucky and that Petkovic should have been booked instead. Interesting!
Rice make his way towards the penalty area and receives support from Lanzini, but Zagreb clears it for a throw.
West Ham continue to dominating here with six minutes to go until the break. Can they double their lead before we head into the sheds?
Vlasic is into a gap but good defending by Théophile-Catherine to block the effort. That was better from Théophile-Catherine than the earlier effort that ended up as a goal!
We will have one minute of time added on for stoppages.
HALF-TIME: DINAMO ZAGREB 0-1 WEST HAM UNITED. It has been a lively half from West Ham and they have been all over a very pedestrian Zagreb. Can they keep this confident start up for another 45 minutes?
Kick-off! We are back underway in the second half.
SUBSTITUTION: We have a change at the break for Zagreb. Juric is on to replace the man who was responsible for the pass that led to the West Ham goal. Unlucky for Kevin Théophile-Catherine as he ended the half well.
Lanzini gets away with no booking after a silly foul. He needs to be careful as he is already on a booking.
GOAL, WEST HAM UNITED, RICE! 0-2: Absolutely brilliant from the skipper, who gets the ball near halfway. He makes his way towards goal and drives it into the back of the net and through the legs of the keeper.
SUBSTITUTION: That goal was the sign Moyes needed and he takes off the booked Lanzini for Benrahma.
Issa Diop is under pressure and concedes a corner to Zagreb. West Ham clears.
A bit more pressure from Zagreb as they secure another corner courtesy of Soucek.
This scoreline is a combination of brilliant West Ham play but also due to a really poor Zagreb thus far. We need to mention however that the hosts have looked better in this half.
SUBSTITUTION : Another change for the home team. A like for like replacement and Moharrami is on for Ristovski.
Moharrami is guilty of a foul on Benrahma as his first action since coming on.
West Ham have a free-kick in a really good position after a booking for Misic following a foul on Antonio.
SUBSTITUTION: West Ham make another change and Bowen is on for Vlasic.
With sixteen minutes to go here Lucas Fabianski has not been tested by Zagreb up until now.
SUBSTITUTION: Another change for the home team. Tolic replaces Misic.
West Ham continue to come forward and Benrahma's shot is BLOCKED after a good offload from Fornals.
SUBSTITUTION: A triple change for West Ham. Mark Noble is on for Declan Rice, Antonio has been replaced by Yarmolenko and Masuaku is on for Fornals.
This game has been petering out a bit over the last few minutes. All the substitutions did not help things either but West Ham will be happy with proceedings at present.
We will have three minutes of time added on for stoppages.
West Ham secure another corner as we head into stoppage time.
The Yarmolenko header following the corner is SAVED!
FULL-TIME: DINAMO ZAGREB 0-2 WEST HAM UNITED. In the end this has been too easy for West Ham and they managed the last eight minutes of this game very well. Great work by David Moyes and his charges. It's a dream start for the Hammers and thank you for joining us.
