Man City are 2-1 ahead on aggregate heading into the game following their victory in the first leg prior to the lockdown. It's all to play for tonight!
Hello and welcome back to the return of the Champions League! Manchester City host Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
KICK OFF: We're underway at the Etihad Stadium!
It's quite a lethargic start from both sides, possibly due to the lack of football of late. But Real wait until the third minute to get out of their half with Hazard; before they retain possession along halfway.
De Bruyne lines one up 30 yards out as City break, and it hits Eder and flies out for a corner. De Bruyne takes, but he overhits it, uncharacteristically, and City build again from the back.
GOAL! It's a terrible error by Varane! He's robbed by Jesus, who squares for Sterling to slot into a near-empty net. That was awful from the visitors but great pressure from Jesus. Could that be the goal that sends Man City into the quarter-finals?
Madrid still need two away goals to stand a chance of progressing, but that's a really poor, lethargic way to start it.
Chance! First Foden gets onto his left and shoots from 15 yards - blocked - before Ilkay Gundogan also sees a shot from a central position blocked by Eder Miliato.
Madrid are all over the shop at the back. Circus defending from Zidane's side. Man City are having a field day in these opening 15 minutes and could be more than one ahead tonight.
Now Eder Militao is the latest to find himself in trouble at the back, with Sterling on his back just 10 yards out, but the Real man just about wins a foul. He's lucky!
This is chaos. Real allow Sterling a yard or two on the edge... he turns, curls one for the top right corner, but it lands on the top of the goal. Unlucky.
Massive tackle! Sterling gets into the box, onto his right foot and with a shooting chance, but he just stutters and looks to turn inside, going down as Casemiro slides in.
Chance! Real's first of the game. Hazard does well to slip Benzema in in a central position, he gets the ball out of his feet and has a decent shooting chance from just inside the box, but Ederson parries away!
Chance! Another save from Ederson! Madrid go short form the corner before picking out Hazard in a shooting position, left footed from the edge. He strikes it fiercely for the bottom right corner, but Ederson is down really well.
Real Madrid have finally settled into the game. After a calamitous opening 20 minutes it looks like they're playing comfortably again.
GOAL! Great work from Rodrygo on the right, floating past Cancelo with ease to get to the byline and floating a cross into the middle. Benzema easily gets above Fernandinho, and heads into the bottom right corner with ease! GAME ON!
Shot! Walker finds a few yards around 30 yards out, lashes one goalwards with Sterling better placed on the right of the box, and it flies high and wide over Courtois' goal.
It looks as though the winners of this tie will be playing Lyon, by the way. They're 1-0 up on the night and 2-0 up on aggregate against Juventus, who need three goals now.
Casemiro is robbed in midfield and City break. De Bruyne feeds Cancelo on the left, he cuts onto his right and shoots central towards Courtois, but the former Chelsea man makes a hash of it, parrying it into a dangerous area!
Real put themselves in trouble! Courtois' kick is awful, straight to De Bruyne 40 yards out, and his nice touch gives Foden space. He lines one up 20 yards out, lashes it bottom right corner, but it flies wide! Another sigh of relief for Courtois!
By the way, no drinks break here, which seems bizarre, given it's the hottest day of the year!
HALF TIME: What a brilliant first half. Sterling gave City the lead but Benzema's header leveled the scores on the night. It's all set up for a brilliant second period.
There will be one minute of extra time.
SECOND HALF: We're back underway for the final 45. No changes from either side to report on.
It looks like Gabriel Jesus has gone more central now, with Foden now left and Sterling staying right. City reverting to type, it seems.
Save! Sterling should've done better after a sublime through ball from De Bruyne fom way deep to pick out the winger. Sterling goes through on goal but lashes at it, as Courtois beats it away with his right hand!
Save! Two De Bruyne corners as a result, and the second is another attempt at a shot! Courtois this time has to dive to tip it away, but De Bruyne is clearly seeing something here.
Real are stepping things up here. They're pressuring around the edge of the box, side-to-side and looking for gaps, but City are standing tall still.
Rodrygo looks to get past Cancelo and runs into the defender... referee Brych is having none of it, no foul given on the right, and Real are very unhappy.
Chance! More casual possession from Real. Casemiro just hands the ball to Foden on a plate, 40 yards from his own goal. It's so poor. Gundogan then squares for Sterling, but it's too close to Courtois, who's able to block the effort at close range!
De Bruyne gallops goalwards, centrally, turns onto his right foot as he gets into the area and stretches to shoot, but Carvajal does superbly to block! Corner.
De Bruyne, released on the right in space, smashes it across goal hoping for a City man to latch onto it, but nobody is there.
Substitution: Zidane makes his first change. Rodrygo is replaced by Asensio for the last half an hour – or potentially more.
Block! Benzema finds himself central position after Rodri is caught on the ball this time, but Fernandinho and Laporte just about to enough to block the Frenchman's effort! The resulting corner comes to nothing.
Save! City being caught by a long ball! Asensio makes a nuisance of himself between Laporte and Fernandinho, somehow knocks it off to Benzema, who takes it down and shoots but it's straight at Ederson from 20 yards!
End to end! De Bruyne to Gundogan, and then into Jesus with his back to goal, but the Brazilian turns, shoots goalwards from 12 yards, and Courtois has to tip it away well!
Substitution: City make their first change. Phil Foden is off for Bernardo.
GOAL! That is surely that! Jesus lobs Courtois with a fine finish after capatilsing on another shocking error from Varane, whose header basically gifted City a goal for the second time this evening.
Chance for Madrid! There's pinball in the City box as they fail to clear... Benzema has it left byline and clips it back post to Modric, who takes a touch and shoots from an angle, but it's blocked by a combination of Ederson and Gundogan!
Chance! Varane all over the place again. A through ball is played by De Bruyne looking for Jesus, it hits the defender and loops up towards Jesus, who finds Bernardo, who sees his shot blocked when he had Sterling in acres of space!
Non-stop chaos! First, a penalty appeal. Carvajal is with Sterling in the box, the latter goes down, but Brych says no defiantly. Then, Walker has a go from 20 yards, but Courtois stops it well.
Courtois bails Carvajal out now, after his casual pass across the face of goal! A truly astonishing amount of defensive mistakes from Madrid tonight.
Some Real pressure in the final third, but City are defending well, as they have done for much of this game. Kroos takes a corner from the right, but it's cleared eventually by Walker.
Booking: First booking of the game for Modric, who clips De Bruyne cynically.
Substitution: Here comes David Silva, on for Raheem Sterling, in what will be his final outing in a Manchester City home match.
Substitution: Zidane makes a triple change in a last-ditch effort to find two goals. Fede Valverde, Luka Jovic and Lucas Vazquez are on for Luka Modric, Eden Hazard and Dani Carvajal.
Substitution: Silva's free-kick beats the wall but flicks the top of the netting as it just goes over.
Rodri has gone off after that bout of cramp.
FULL TIME: City are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League!
Four minutes of added-on time.
