Palace have had the rub over United in their last five Premier League meetings. They beat United 3-1 at Old Trafford in 2020, then drew 0-0 t home in the return fixture for a 4-1 points "win" over United in that season. The following season both teams won 1-0 a home, and this season Palace earned a 1-1 draw at home thanks to a 91st minute equaliser Olise to snatch a point from United.
0'
The two teams have met 49 times in the past, sharing 100 points between them… although not divided up equally. United have won 30 of those matches, while Palace have won just nine. They have drawn 10 times.

Palace's form is somewhat patchy, having lost three of their last five matches. However, their last two matches (both in the league) were draws against high-flying United (1-1) and Newcastle (0-0).
0'
United have won their last three matches, which have all been Cup fixtures. Prior to that they lost 3-2 away to Arsenal. The match before they drew 1-1 away to Palace. They won their previous three league matches in a row.

United are fourth on the log with 39 points from their 20 matches, behind Newcastle only on goal difference. Palace are fairly comfortable on 24 points from their 20 matches - they have a seven point gap over 18th-placed Bournemouth.

Good afternoon, and welcome to our live coverage of the English Premier League clash between Manchester United and Crystal Palace from Old Trafford in Manchester.
1'
Kick-off! We're underway here at Old Trafford with the first half of United vs Crystal Palace.
2'
Almost immediately Palace win a free-kick close to the left edge of the United box… it's whipped in beautifully close to the six-yard box but United clear for a corner… and then clear the corner danger upfield.
3'
United with a good run close to the edge of the Palace box, Palace keep them at bay but United work their way to the byline and cross in… shouts for a penalty as it hits a defender's arm… we're waiting for the VAR decision.
5'
VAR is taking some time… and the referee has been called over to view the decision, which usually means it's a penalty…
6'
PENALTY KICK! That's the last thing Palace wanted or could afford, and Bruno Fernandes has the ball and is polishing the penalty spot with it.
7'
GOAL, MANCHESTER UNITED, FERNANDES! 1-0; A very jittery run-up and hop by Fernandes, but he slots it along the ground to the left side of the post, which is just as well as Guaita was diving left.
8'
Guaita is down after Weghorst stretched in late to challenge the keeper as he cleared the ball. The keeper is back up on his feet.
9'
Good defending from Palace to keep out a good United attack, the cross into the box being header clear.
10'
United look strong on the ball but Palace are pressing hard and high, so the floodgates are currently firmly closed.
11'
Another good United attack is quelled by the Palace back four… only for United to regain possession and start building up from the back again. It's going to be a long afternoon for all 11 Palace players…
13'
Wan-Bissaka with a good run up the right wing wins a corner… great header from Weghorst towards the top-left corner but Guaita flings himself left to palm it wide, but United keep attacking inside the box until a cross into the box is just too strong and allows Guaita to collect.
15'
United with a couple of strong challenges leaving two opponents briefly on the floor as United remind their visitors that they mean business. Still 75 minutes left for either side to pack in a few goals, and it's looking like both sides are going to put a lot of heavy work into rippling the back of the net.
16'
Some smart passing by Palace is brought to an end as Martinez dives into tackle the ball out of play. Palace are querying if there is velcro stuck to the ref's yellow card inside his pocket, but the referee is not amused.
18'
Palace win a throw in line with the United box, and then a second throw
19'
United break up a promising Palace attack and press forward, only for Rashford to be flagged down for treading too far ahead of the defenders.
20'
Mitchell with a strong challenge that draws a United free-kick but can't tempt the yellow card out of Mr Marriner's pocket.
21'
United win a corner from the left wing… Fernandes delivers it nicely to into the six-yard box in line with the left post, Palace head clear, but only as far as a United player, and they storm forward… but Palace clear the danger again.
23'
United still with the bulk of possession, they push forward but Palace clear the ball back upfield.
25'
Edouard goes down like a butterfly in a hail storm after Casemiro steps into his shadow, and Palace have a free-kick.
26'
The free-kick is taken too tight and De Gea is free to rush forward to collect the ball.
27'
Wan-Bissaka drives forward from the right and curls a cross in, but it's too deep and Guaita is able to collect with ease.
28'
Antony curls a shot on goal from inside the box, but Guaita sashays quickly to his left, leaps up and catches the ball.
28'
Rashford into the box and he fires a shot on goal, which Guaita saves well but can't prevent a penalty
29'
Good run up the left by Edouard, but his cross is too deep and De Gea collects without any disturbance from the Palace forward line.
31'
Rashford wins the ball off a Palace defender, the ball lobs up and hovers gracefully in front of the United forward, who slams it goalwards but it's far too high.
32'
Shaw charges up the left and crosses into the United box, it's a good ball but Palace clear the danger… United head straight back on attack and this time earn a corner.
33'
Corner is played out to Fred unchallenged near the edge of the box, his shot lacks serious punctuation and is beaten back by the wall, as is a repeat shot… and Palace launch a counter-attack… but De Gea rises easily to clutch the cross.
35'
Weghorst down the left wing after an extended period of United pressure… the cross is met by Fred inside the six-yard box but the shot powers well wide of the post.
37'
United look to clear the danger after a brief Palace attack, but this time Palace regain possession and launch another attack, winning a corner after a cross is deflected off Wan-Bissak. The corner is benign and United are able to build another attack up from the back.
40'
United are pressing again but Palace stand firm to repel the attack and launch a counter.
42'
Rashford shoots from the edge of the box but his shot has extra air miles on it and doesn't challenge the goal.
43'
Lovely shot on goal that bounces short of De Gea, but the United keeper dives and deflects the beautifully away from danger. He really is a special keeper.
44'
Palace pressing up in the last quarter of the pitch, but with Arsenal having lost earlier today to Everton, United don't look at all obliging to give away points.
45'
HALF-TIME, MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 CRYSTAL PALACE. A super half of football, with United looking ominously strong, but Palace are showing plenty of power and resolve and won't be a pushover in a second half that looks set to deliver some sparkling football. We'll be back shortly with the action.
45'
YELLOW CARD, CRYSTAL PALACE, MITCHELL. The Palace man is booked for a tough challenge on Antony. The free-kick is dealt with but a corner results.
45'
We'll b having two minutes of extra time.
46'
United straight onto the attack, Fred is released down the right wing inside the box, but his cross is turned away by the Palace defence.
46'
Kick-off! We're underway here with the second half at Old Trafford.
48'
United now rolling the ball around the back four… Antony goes on a run to the Palace box and a good ball is sent to him, but Palace win possession and mount a very positive counter-attack which took them deep into the United box before the hosts cleared the danger.
50'
Martinez gives Palace a free-kick just inside the United half, but the visitors are pushed back to their own box… but they launch an attack from there and win a corner, ball is headed clear and then passed into the legs of referee Marriner, resulting in a dropped ball.
53'
Super work by Palace, attacking United and causing a fair degree of panic, but the ball runs just past the goalposts and United clear the danger. Excellent play from Palace.
55'
Great pressure again from Palace, who get close to United's box again before United can clear the danger.
56'
Rashford now in the box, pushes the ball wide, turns and curls a shot hard at the goal but it's off target. A good, snappy effort - some might expect more from it, but it must be said it was a good effort from the striker.
57'
Bruno Fernanes is down after taking a heavy knock… he gets o his feet but it looks like he's still feeling the effects… play continues and the United goalscorer is summoned back onto the pitch.
59'
Palace push forward but Edouard is flagged offside.
60'
SUBSTITUTION, MANCHESTER UNITED. Weghorst gets the hook and the talented young Garnacho is let loose on Palace.
62'
Palace pressing hard as United look to build from the back again, but certainly it's been Palace looking the side showing more flair.
63'
GOAL, MANCHESTER UNITED, RASHFORD! 2-0; There he goes again, just as we were writing them off. Shaw with a lovely, low cross into the box, where Rashford stabs it into the goal from the edge of the six-yard box - what a finish from n incredible striker. We haven't seen much of his today, but all you need to see is a striker's name on the scoresheet… that's what truly counts.
65'
There's a blow-up on the right touchline after a tough challenge on Antony sparks a few moments of Premier League wrestling. Antony did slip down the United mini touchline bank. The ref has dug into his pocket to lay down the law…
67'
YELLOW CARDS, BOTH SIDES. Schlupp sees yellow for the initial challenge and Antony receives a yellow for his reaction. But hang on… the VAR is scouring the footage for red card footage… oh, dear, he has been summoned to the monitor…………
69'
RED CARD, MANCHESTER UNITED, CASEMIRO. Just back from suspension, the Brazilian receives a straight red card for putting his hands around the neck of Will Hughes during the player melee. Always sad to see a player trudge down the tunnel, but it was a silly move by Casemiro. Can Palace benefit from the man advantage?
71'
Quite a bit of added time to follow, but for now what matters is Palace are on the ball, they push it into the United box and Edouard releases his left-footed shot but it's too high. Big rule in football is always hit the target - rather soft but on target than a rocket into the crowd.
73'
SUBSTITUTIONS, CRYSTAL PALACE. Fresh legs are released onto the pitch for Palace, with Hughes and Ayew making way for Eze and Lokonga. We could be in for one heck of an exciting finish here…
74'
Olise and Eze combine well inside the United box to earn a penalty…
75'
SAVED! That is just world-class from De Gea, blocking a powerful header from the six-yard box with both hands. What a keeper, and he's on the verge of a clean sheet record for United… the corner comes in…
76'
GOAL, CRYSTAL PALACE, SCHLUPP! 2-1; Magnificent finish by the former United triallist! How a game can twist on a single moment, especially after a red card. We are in for a fiesty finish here at Old Trafford make no mistake!
77'
Excellent pressure again from Palace, a great cross into the box that has the United defence scrambling to clear… but now United are attacking, Garnacho goes down but the ref waves play on, and now Fernandes trips up after clattering into Andre Marriner, who is unfazed by the collision. They build them tough in the refree's academy.
78'
CLOSE! Palace with a great ball into the box, Eze stabs it goalwards but it runs across the goalmouth, Palace keep attacking but the danger is quickly cleared by United.
80'
SUBSTITUTION, MANCHESTER UNITED. Sabitzer replaces Antony.
82'
SUBSTITUTION, CRYSTAL PALACE. Ahamada and Mateta are brought on for a last gasp attack for Palace, hot on the heels of another good attack by the visitors.
83'
Palace attacking again, but Fred wins the ball back superbly.
87'
CLOSE! Ahamada whips across in for Mateta to header at the back post, but he can't keep it down and its over the post.
90'
GOODNESS… seven minutes of extra time.
92'
Palace pressing forward relentlessly and United do all they can to clear the danger.
93'
There has been a bit of time-wasting by De Gea et al but the referee says he will add extra.
96'
Palace continue to be the team in the ascendancy while United are holding on for dear life.
99'
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 CRYSTAL PALACE. FINALLY! It's all OVER and Old Trafford breathes a huge sigh of relief to secure the three points. The red card opened the game for Palace to roar back at United but the noisy Manchester neighbours held on by the skin of their teeth, Thank you for sharing this exciting encounter with us.
