Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this Super Rugby AU clash between the Waratahs and the Western Force at the Bankwest Stadium.
The match is underway!
The Force got off to a good start, but they're penalised at the breakdown for a player not supporting his body weight. The Waratahs set up an attacking lineout.
TRY, WARATAHS, PORECKI! 5-0: The Waratahs' faith in their lineout maul pays off as Porecki goes over for the first try of the game!
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, HARRISON! 7-0: Harrison adds the extras for the Waratahs.
The Waratahs are putting pressure on the Force, looking to gain some momentum once again.
The Force concede the advantage and then the penalty around 40 metres out, under the sticks. The Waratahs will have a shot at posts.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, HARRISON! 10-0: Harrison splits the posts and puts the Waratahs 10 points to the good early on.
The Waratahs weather a spell on the back foot and get the clearance kick away. The Force will need to be more clinical if they wish to get back into this game.
The Waratahs hold firm once again in defence and win a penalty on halfway for holding on. The 'Tahs set up an attacking lineout.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, HARRISON! 13-0: The Waratahs win another penalty and opt to go for posts, with Harrison spot on once again.
The Force take the ball through 11 phases and then look to burrow their way over the try-line, but the Waratahs defence manages to hold them up!
Good work from the Waratahs on attack and they have numbers out wide. They opt for the grubber kick and it goes into touch. McIntyre put in an important tackle there to hamper that attacking play from the 'Tahs.
TRY, FORCE, LEE-WARNER! 13-5: Some quick hands from the Force allow Anstee to dart through the heart of the defence and send Lee-Warner through for the finish! The Force are on the board at long last!
CONVERSION, FORCE, MCINTYRE! 13-7: McIntyre adds the extras for the Force and they're back within touching distance.
PENALTY, FORCE, MCINTYRE! 13-10: The Force win a penalty right under the posts and McIntyre pops it over. Half-time couldn't come quickly enough for the Waratahs.
Back underway at Bankwest Stadium. McIntyre kicks off the second half for the Force.
HALF-TIME: WARATAHS 13-10 FORCE. The Waratahs defended valiantly throughout most of the first half and they take the lead into the break, but the Force have been eating away at that recently and it will be interesting to see how the second half plays out. Neither of these sides has won a game this season, so there is plenty riding on this fixture.
The Force look to make up ground out wide, but the Waratahs get numbers across in defence and bundle them into touch.
It's the Waratahs' turn to build up patiently and Porecki looks to force his way over for another try, but Cubelli's tackle saves the day as the Waratahs hooker knocks on in the contact!
Penalty to the Force for offside and they set up an attacking lineout. The Waratahs need to defend just outside their 22.
The Force take the ball through 16 phases before Robertson knocks on. We go back for a Force penalty and they set up a lineout in the corner.
TRY, FORCE, ANSTEE! 13-15: Anstee goes round the back of the lineout and reaches over to put the Force in front!
CONVERSION, FORCE, MCINTYRE! 13-17: McIntyre converts for the Force and puts them four points to the good.
The Waratahs are doing their best to get back on the front foot, putting pressure on the Force.
Nawaqanitawase goes off with what appears to be a bit of cramp. Hopefully it's nothing more than that.
RED CARD, FORCE, READY! 13-17: Ready picks up a red card for a punch to the head of an opponent! The Force are down a man.
The two teams exchange kicks in search of territory. This suits the Force, as they need to be on the defensive with 14 men, while the Waratahs are running out of time.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, HARRISON! 17-16: The Waratahs win a penalty and opt to go for posts. Harrsion only just sneaks it inside the uprights.
The Waratahs cough up possession and Kahui darts away, but he is hit by Harrison and his offload is loose. That could easily have been a try for the Force, but the Waratahs hold on for now and have a scrum on their own 22-metre line.
PENALTY, FORCE, PRIOR! 16-20: The Force win a penalty and Prior pops it over the posts. The clock has been run down further and the Force are almost at the finish line. Shortly after the restart, however, Prior kicks away possession. The Waratahs have what will surely be one last chance to launch an attack.
Maddocks sets up an attacking lineout just inside the Force 22. This is do or die for the Waratahs.
FULL-TIME: WARATAHS 16-20 FORCE. The Waratahs look to work the ball out right, but a forward pass stops them short and the Force cling on for the victory!
