TRY, HIGHLANDERS, DICKSON! 5-0: It's all Highlanders at the start and they apply the pressure through the phases. Sam Gilbert comes close down the left. They recycle the ball before Josh Disckson is OVER! Pressure!
CONVERSION, HIGHLANDERS, GILBERT! 7-0: Gilbert adds the extras.
James Lentjes does well at the breakdown and secure a Highlanders' penalty. They find touch, secure the line-out and go wide. After eight phases they lose possession, as the Tahs turn it over at the breakdown.
The Tahs have another penalty and this time on the other side of halfway. They feed a line-out on the Highlanders' 22.
The set-piece is secured and Newsome takes it into the tackle. They recycle it and string nine phases together before securing an offside penalty. They are looking good. Ben Donaldson finds touch four metres out.
TRY, WARATAHS, HARRIS! 7-5: The set-piece is secured and the driving maul is slightlt held up. Under a penalty advantage Will Harris takes the recycled ball and beats two defenders to SCORE!
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, EDMED! 7-7: We are all square after the easy Edmed conversion.
The Highlanders make their way into the Tahs' 22 after seven phases before being held up and the Tahs have the scrum.
Jake Gordon clears a Tahs scrum inside their own half and Edmed kicks high. Nawaqanitawase does well to follow up and secures the ball. Sadly they spill it afterwards and Aaron Smith feeds a Highlanders scrum.
Scrappy at the back of the scrum between Smith and the number eight. The Tahs feed a scrum and then secure a penalty after a HUGE SHOVE. Donaldson sends it into touch.
The Tahs go left after winning the set-piece but then give it away and Gregory launches the counter-attack for the Highlanders.
Daniel Lienert-Brown is into a gap down the left and it's a near thing but they are called back for a Highlanders' penalty inside the Tahs' 22.
They go for the line-out and secure it. The maul gets going but the Tahs get a hand under it as the Highlanders go over. It's a goal-line drop-out.
The Highlanders come away with it after a line-out following an offside penalty. Again the ball is turned over. Good work Tahs who clear it into touch.
Connor Garden-Bachop with a good run after seeing a gap. He offloads but it's then kicked ahead and it comes off a Tah and into touch.
RED CARD, HIGHLANDERS, GILBERT! 7-7: The TMO is involved to check for potential foul play. Silly by Sam Gilbert with a tip-tackle on Hooper. He landed on his shoulder. Very dangerous and he is off for 20 minutes.
The Tahs find touch in the corner and Hoope secures the line-out. They get the maul going and are initially held up before it's recycled. Eventually after 12 phases they secure an offside penalty. Nic Berry chats to Aaron Smith and the Tahs opt for a scrum five metres out.
TRY, WARATAHS, NAWAQANITAWASE! 7-12: Jake Gordon clears the scrum and finds Edmed, who sends a loop-pass to Mark Nawaqanitawase and he is OVER in the CORNER! Great running by the two decoy runners in the build-up.
Edmed drifts the conversion wide.
The Tahs are taking advantage of that one man advantage and make their way to the Highlanders' 10 metre line.
After 11 phases Dylan Pietsch storms down the left and side-steps inside before his pass goes astray and into touch.
TRY, WARATAHS. HOOPER! 7-17: Too good and too smart by Hooper as he collects a lose ball at the breakdown. He storms down the middle and avoids two tackles to SCORE!
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, EDMED! 7-19: This time Edmed converts.
HALF-TIME: HIGHLANDERS 7-19 WARATAHS. The Waratahs have a deserving lead at the break and they have come to play. The Highlanders have been punished since the red card when Gilbert was giving his marching orders for 20 minutes.
Kick-off! We are back underway in the second half.
Aaron Smith sends it into touch after the restart is secured. They will try and get through the next 10 minutes very carefully before Gilbert returns.
After a few restarts at a scrum Aaron Smith comes away with it. The Highlanders make their way into the 22 before turning it over. The Tahs then kick deep and we have a line-out on the Highlanders' 22.
Scott Gregory is penalised at the breakdown and the Tahs go for the corner. The line-out is secured but then Hooper spills it. Relief for the Highlanders.
The Highlanders get the scrum penalty after a HUGE shove and Aaron Smith finds touch.
PENALTY, HIGHLANDERS, BANKS! 10-19: The set-piece is secured and they make their way into the Tahs' 22 under a penalty advantage. They are awarded the penalty and Banks, who has just come on for Gilbert has a shot at goal and sends it down the middle.
YELLOW CARD, WARATAHS, RYAN! 10-19: The TMO is involved again for potential foul play and he rules that Paddy Ryan is guilty of foul play at the breakdown.
Great work at the breakdown by Marino Mikaele-Tu’u to secure a turn-over penalty for the Highlanders and Banks finds touch. They go to the blind-side and Billy Harmon is sent into space but is then forced to kick forward. It rolls into touch.
After a reset at a scrum the Waratahs clear it under pressure from Aaron Smith in their own 22. The Tahs kick deep but fails to find touch.
TRY, HIGHLANDERS, GREGORY! 15-19: Connor Garden-Bachop launches the counter-attack and Donaldson fails to regather. The Highlanders go wide and then Billy Harmon sends Gregory away to TOUCH DOWN in the CORNER.
Marty Banks sends the conversion wide.
The Tahs keeping ball in had as they run the two minutes down before Ryan returns.
Connor Garden-Bachop fails to take a high-ball on his own 10 metre line and spills it. Ryan is back for the Tahs.
It leads to a Tahs penalty after the front rows go down. They go for the corner but the Highlanders steal it only to hand it back with a knock-on.
The Tahs secure the scrum and Gamble takes it into the tackle. The Tahs secure an offside penalty and this time they go for goal.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, EDMED! 15-22: Edmed sends an easy kick OVER!
Once again a handling error by the Highlanders and the Tahs pounce on it. Hooper combines with Ned Hanigan but they run out of real estate.
NO TRY! The Tahs claim a try in the corner but Banks stuck his foot out and prevented the grounding and the ball spills forward. The TMO agrees.
The Tahs then secure their five metre scrum and then earn a penalty at the breakdown. Again they go for goal.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, EDMED! 15-25: Edmed sends another easy kick OVER
Mark Nawaqanitawase into space for the Tahs down the right and they really should have scored but his pass to Jake Gordon does not go to hand. Lucky Highlanders.
Hooper breaks away from the breakdown and the Tahs make good ground. Gordon sends a high-kick and Marty Banks collects. The Highlanders then give it away after good work by Charlie Gamble.
Edmed fails to extend the lead to 13 with six to play. HOW DID HE MISS THAT?
Gordon sends it high in his own 22. The Tahs turn it over and Newsome storms down the left but his kick is deflected into touch.
TRY, WARATAHS, EDMED! 15-30: The Tahs string nine patient phases together before Edmed is OVER in the corner for the first try of his career.
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, EDMED! 15-32: This time he slots it over.
FULL-TIME: HIGHLANDERS 15-32 WARATAHS. It's the first win in Dunedin for the Tahs since 2008 and they truly deserve it. They were all over the Highlanders but were assisted by some ill discipline form the home team. Thank you for joining us.
