Hello and welcome to our coverage of this URC clash between Edinburgh and the Lions at the DAM Health Stadium.
Underway! The game has kicked off in Edinburgh.
The Lions are dominating territory early on. They go for the chip over the top, but Edinburgh get there first and clear into touch through Pyrgos.
McInally bursts upfield. The Lions concede a penalty in defence and Edinburgh look for touch, but they miss it and the Lions fire the ball out outside their 22. Edinburgh secure the lineout and go for the maul.
Andries Coetzee fumbles and fails to pick up the loose ball, but it goes into touch before Edinburgh can pounce close to the try line. It's ruled that Coetzee did not touch the ball, so the Lions have the lineout, which they secure before clearing their lines through the fullback.
The Lions have a penalty some 50-odd metres out. Lombard goes for posts, looking to use the wind to his advantage, but misses.
Lombard goes for a long-range drop goal, but completely fluffs his lines, allowing Edinburgh to counter through Boffelli, who looks like he has got away after gathering Immelman's kick, but a superb last-ditch tap-tackle from Horn sees him fumble!
Edinburgh win a kickable penalty but opt to go for touch rather than taking the three.
TRY, EDINBURGH, MATA! 5-0: Gilchrist takes from the lineout and Edinburgh maul their way over with the help of their outside backs. It's Mata who comes up with the ball though!
A TMO check for a potential bite on Luan de Bruin yields no results, so the game continues as we were.
Edinburgh's Boffelli misses his conversion attempt, so the score remains 5-0.
The Lions have another slightly more kickable penalty, which will lead to Lombard having a go at posts.
Lombard pushes his kick to the left and so the score remains 5-0 to Edinburgh.
The Lions survive a spell of pressure and win the penalty and a chance to move the ball back upfield.
TRY, LIONS, COETZEE! 5-5: After a spell of sustained pressure, the Lions finally find their way over. Nohamba throws a lovely pass out to Coetzee, who breezes past the would-be tackler to score!
Astonishingly, Lombard misses a conversion which appeared to be bread and butter for him. The score remains 5-5.
Off we go for the start of the second half with Blair Kinghorn getting proceedings back underway.
HALF-TIME: EDINBURGH 5-5 LIONS. The teams go into the break all square in a cagey encounter which looks set to go to the wire. Edinburgh drew first blood through Mata before the Lions responded through Coetzee.
Sanele Nohamba has been one of the standout performers in this match so far. He has been very creative with his passing and Edinburgh can ill afford to take their eyes off him for a moment.
An Edinburgh counter-attack is stopped in its tracks as Graham is tackled into touch superbly by van Wyk.
Nohamba makes way with van den Berg coming on to replace him.
TRY, EDINBURGH, GRAHAM! 10-5: Edinburgh work the ball out wide to Graham after Mata's carry put them on the attack. Graham finishes the job, collecting the wide pass from Boffelli and running round the outside of Quan Horn to finish!
CONVERSION, EDINBURGH, BOFFELLI! 12-5: Boffelli does well to convert from near the right touchline for Edinburgh.
TRY, LIONS, VAN WYK! 12-10: van Wyk is not held in the tackle and manages to get up and keep going, catching Edinburgh napping. He goes all the way for the try!
CONVERSION, LIONS, LOMBARD! 12-12: This time, Lombard converts to level the scores!
TRY, EDINBURGH, MUNCASTER! 17-12: Edinburgh hit straight back to regain the lead, with Muncaster forcing his way over via the lineout maul!
CONVERSION, EDINBURGH, BOFFELLI! 19-12: Boffelli extends the lead back to seven with the conversion.
TRY, LIONS, FRANCKE HORN! 19-17: Tshituka barges through the Edinburgh bodies before van den Berg sets Horn up for the finish!
CONVERSION, LIONS, LOMBARD! 19-19: Simple conversion from Lombard to level the scores.
Immelman is receiving attention on the field for a head injury after seemingly catching a stray Lions knee.
The Lions counter after a spell of Edinburgh dominance. It's Louw against Graham in a straight foot race for the loose ball. Graham gets there first, but the Lions win the penalty as he fails to release!
PENALTY, LIONS, LOMBARD! 19-22: Lombard pops the penalty over to put the Lions in front for the very first time!
Edinburgh are going at the Lions one last time on attack as they look to salvage a game they led almost from the beginning but suddenly find themselves chasing.
FULL-TIME: EDINBURGH 19-22 LIONS. Van den Berg puts the ball out and the Lions are victorious. They fought until the death for a victory that seemed unlikely for most of this game and deserve the points for a defensive masterclass!
