Fernando Alonso is no stranger to drama, but no one could have foreseen him parting ways with Alpine on such a negative footing. And more, the ensuing drama took everyone by surprise. A proper telenovela, I tell you!  

Alonso made his Formula 1 return with Alpine in 2021 after a two-year hiatus, showing that he still has what it takes to compete at motorsport's highest level. But in choosing the Spaniard, Alpine overlooked Oscar Piastri - a youngster with tremendous talent and whom the team has been grooming for the past four years.
