The dismantling of Super Rugby as we once knew it will have at least some negative spinoffs for South Africa's high-level players as well.

No longer visiting Australasia - and especially the always formidable, rugger-obsessed New Zealand - on a routine basis at first-class level is hardly going to assist in steeling up our better players for the general demands of touring abroad, even if there is a renewed emphasis soon on more northern-geared travels in an expanded PRO16...
