'Big Ben' runner gets stuck at London Marathon finish line

Cape Town - A runner dressed as iconic landmark Big Ben covered 42.2km in Sunday's London Marathon - only to get stuck attempting to cross the finish line!

The hilarious clip has been viewed in excess of 6.7 million occasions.

Although the runner, named as Lukas Bates, failed to beat the Guinness World Record for finishing a marathon dressed as a landmark, he did raise over £4 500 (R85 000) for Alzheimer research.

Experiencing far fewer problems breaking the tape, Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge won the men's race for the fourth time, stopping the clock in 2:02:37 - the second-fastest marathon time ever recorded.

Brigid Kosgei, also of Kenya, won the woman's race in 2:18:20.
