Caster Semenya's concerns about hormone-blockers are legitimate, says renowned sports scientist

Among the many things she's said in defiance of the testosterone-suppressing rule from World Athletics, Caster Semenya has always maintained she would not risk her health again by taking the mandated hormone-blockers to compete in her favourite events.

After her unsuccessful Swiss Federal Supreme Court bid to overturn athletics governing body's controversial regulations that force women competing in 400m, 800m and 1500m events to take hormone-blockers, Semenya has been backed by renowned sports scientist Dr Ross Tucker in her fears that the suppressants posed risky side-effects.
