In a development that should satisfy those wishing for a tangible sense of neutrality, the polished Capetonian pair of Matthew Pearce and Hanyani Shimange will take charge of English TV microphone needs for the Currie Cup final between the Bulls and Sharks at Loftus on Saturday. 

The general trend in this highly unusual domestic rugby season has been for SuperSport to "regionalise" their commentators as much as possible, mainly because of pandemic-related issues... something that will have done no harm, at the same time, to their travel and accommodation budgeting in challenging times.

But the hugely well-established combination of Pearce on lead microphone and Shimange as his comments-geared ally trek across provincial borders on this showpiece occasion: I feel they are almost undoubtedly the premier duo available for English requirements.
