MANCHESTER UNITED TOP KIT DEAL TABLE

Manchester United's £75m per year deal with adidas is the highest in the Premier League ahead of Liverpool (£70m from next season with Nike) and Manchester City (£65m, Puma) with Arsenal (adidas) and Chelsea (Nike) coming in tied 4th with £60m per season each. Spurs are next at half of what their North London rivals are getting (£30m), while Merseysiders Everton are further down at £10m with new sponsor for next season, Hummel.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Looks like Nike and Puma are getting the most bang for their buck with Liverpool and Manchester City while adidas are overpaying for underperformers Manchester United and Arsenal.

F1 RUMOUR MILL INTO THE FAST LANE

The latest rumours doing the rounds in the F1 world sees Sebastian Vettel being encouraged to retire and Valtteri Bottas being scouted by Renault for their No 1 seat. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko believes that Vettel may be out of options among the top teams and that it would not suit him to join a weaker team given that he is a 4-time world champion.

“I talked to Seb and of course we went through the variations and possibilities at Red Bull which unfortunately don’t exist ... A 4-time world champion who has achieved a lot in this sport ... before he takes on any midfield team, then I would also say that it would suit Seb’s character, his style, to stop,” said Marko.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: While Vettel may certainly struggle to find a top team willing to pay his high salary at this stage in his career and hence be tempted to retire, Bottas moving to Renault is a less likely scenario. Mercedes have already announced that they are very happy with the balance of their team and have no plans to change. Why would Bottas move from a top team to a speculative one in Renault?

MLS TEAM MAKES EMBARRASSING GAFFE

FC Cincinnati unveiled the signing of their new coach, Jaap Stam, by tweeting a picture of the wrong guy ... Ajax youth team coach, Tinus van Teunenbroek! According to Van Teunenbroek this is not the first time that he has been mistaken for the former Manchester United defender.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Not a great way to install confidence in the new manager!
