Daily sports briefs | The latest in the world of football, three goalkeepers with the same name and Mercedes' tyre manufacturer is under the pump.

Jadon Sancho is on the verge of signing a five-year deal with Manchester United. The £108 million fee is likely to include a large upfront payment with the balance instalments for the winger who scored 17 goals and added 17 assists in 32 games for Borussia Dortmund this season.

Alexis Sanchez should finally be off the books at Manchester United as Inter appear to have agreed a £13 million deal and Sanchez has agreed a reduction in his massive wages (£560k per week!!). This should free up some wage money to finance a few more deals at Old Trafford. Sanchez has been one of the most expensive flops in Man United history.

Tune in on Tuesday night to what is considered the most valuable footy game in the world each season ... the Championship playoff final between Brentford and Fulham. Accounting firm Deloitte estimate the value of promotion to be between £135-265 million depending on how long the promoted team manages to stay up for.

You couldn't make this up! Scottish Premiership side Ross County have three goalkeepers on their books ... all named Ross. Until recently, they were content with just two Rosses ... Ross Laidlaw and Ross Munro until they decided that that wasn't enough and signed Ross Doohan from Celtic.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: We at MyTwoCents are at a Ross for words! Unbelievably, Ross County are also in the news as their manager (not named Ross) Stuart Kettlewell looks identical to fumbling Manchester United keeper David de Gea so much so that De Gea himself even sent out a tweet highlighting their resemblance. Check this out for a laugh:

Mercedes await an internal investigation by Pirelli which almost cost them the British Grand Prix on Sunday. Winner Lewis Hamilton was able to nurse his car over the line despite a final-lap blown tyre.

Team-mate Valtteri Bottas was less fortunate as his blown tyre cost him a place on the podium while Carlos Sainz also had tyre issues.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: The tyre issues could have been caused by debris on the track after Kimi Raikkonen's front wing came off but until the results of the probe are released, Pirelli are under some pressure for answers. How much is Pirelli's tyre deal with F1 worth? £50 million and Mercedes under Toto Wolff are influential within the organisation. Let's hope they manage to get things back on track!
