Chad adds silver to tally

London - Swimmer Chad le Clos secured South Africa's fourth medal of the London Olympic Games, tied second in the men's 100 metres butterfly final on Friday.

He finished behind Olympic legend Michael Phelps who won his 17th ever gold medal and 21st medal overall in last ever individual Olympic race.

South African Chad le Clos and Russian Evgeny Korotyshkin finished in a dead-heat for shared silver.

Phelps was next to last at the turn but then produced his usual furious finish to clock 51.21 seconds.

Chad le Clos was last at the turn but still managed  a share of second place, clocking 51.44.

It was Le Clos's second medal after he snatched gold from Phelps in the 200 metres butterfly final on Tuesday.

Phelps will end his career with the 4x100 medley relay on Saturday.
