Paris - Spanish cycling team Movistar have confirmed an impressive three-pronged climbing attack of Nairo Quintana, Mikel Landa and Alejandro Valverde in their bid to unlock Sky's grip on next month's Tour de France.

The 28-year-old Colombian Quintana was second in both 2013 and 2015 and third in 2016, having also won the Giro in 2014 and the Vuelta in 2016.

Landa, who was fourth in 2016 whilst riding for Sky, does not have the same track record as Quintana and has yet to fulfil his potential.

Veteran Valverde meanwhile will be charged with keeping the peace and likely target the podium and a major stage win.

Also on the roster is the Paris-Nice champion Marc Soler, a 24-year-old who can both time-trial and climb at the top level.

Nairo Quintana (COL), Mikel Landa (ESP), Alejandro Valverde (ESP), Andrey Amador (CRC), Daniele Bennati (ITA), Imanol Erviti (ESP), Jose Joaquin Rojas (ESP), Marc Soler (ESP)
